Arbriel Winfield 6'6 195 2022 LC Bird High School, Richmond VA

Arbriel is going to be an impact player on both ends of the floor as early as next season! As his body continues to fill out and he gets stronger, the more attractive a prospect he becomes. His versatility, athleticism, his advanced skill, his two-way potential is undeniable. He can score from the block using an indefensible jump hook over his left shoulder. With his long wingspan, 6'6 frame and great touch that shot is near-automatic for him. He counters that with a nice drop step move and a soft touch using the glass.

Arbriel demonstrates very good skills and comfort in facing the rim. He moves off the ball nicely, has great hands, solid footwork and does a good job finishing through contact. He has a nice feel as demonstrated in his off-ball dive cuts and other off-ball action. Arbriel can glide to the rim and finish above the rim showing very good athleticism and some explosiveness. He can knock down the occasional three-pointer but is very good inside 15 feet hitting catch and shoot jumpers. He has a nice stroke, fluid mechanics, and very good shot consistency. He can also get his own shot off the bounce and flashes a workable handle and very good body control negotiating traffic and getting to the rim. Raw tools for a great jumper are there and given Coach Troy Manns history of developing shooters one can't help but be excited about Arbriel's potential. Already he demonstrates very good footwork, shot mechanics and shot versatility.

Arbriel pursues rebounds relentlessly, shows good timing and extension. He doesn't take long to gather for a second jump and finishes nicely in traffic. He is capable as he proved during a very good freshman year, of being a double-figure rebounder as he had multiple double-figure rebounding games during his freshman year! Arbriel is an excellent rim protector! He's a shot-blocking presence given his length, timing and quick leaping ability. He also demonstrates good mobility and footwork as a perimeter defender. Expect Arbriel to quickly work his way up the list among the most promising prospects in a very solid 2022 class in Virginia.
