Tyrell Harris 6'6 190 2021 Potomac High School, Dumfries VA

Tyrell is an excellent shooter from all three levels but is especially creative and efficient in the mid-range where he operates like a surgeon dissecting defenses, slicing up defenders with the dribble, and scoring at a highly efficient rate. He has terrific length and body control, he is shifty with the dribble and explosive both attacking space and attacking the rim. Tyrell has very good end to end speed with the dribble and demonstrates point guard like instincts and playmaking skills in a lengthy frame that allows him to impact games inside and on the glass. He has great versatility and a tremendous feel for the game. He moves intelligently off the ball and can get open without the benefit of a screen although he does use screens effectively. His explosive leaping ability allows Coach Honore to use him as a lob target as well.

Tyrell has a quick first step and his rangy strides allow him to gobble up real estate quickly. He is smooth and confident with the ball in his hands using his length and shiftiness, excellent change of pace to get where he wants with the dribble and is so skilled and fluid pulling up off the dribble. One of the better pull-up games in the state and is really what makes him such a dangerous offensive threat and an elite scorer. His shot mechanics are sound and effortless. His ability to hit the three-pointer forces defenders out to contest only to be eaten up by his blow-by quickness, rangy strides, and length. Tyrell can stop on a dime and elevate smoothly into the pull up jumper which is pretty much automatic and given his length and elevation is essentially un-guardable. He's so comfortable attacking second line defenders using hesitations, crossovers, and quick change of direction to create space where he quickly loads into the jumper or slices to the rim enduring contact and finishing.

Tyrell is equally effective going left and right, probably better pulling up going to his left but highly efficient in either direction. He can also post smaller guards and shows great touch using reverse pivots, front pivot fade-away. He is a strong and active rebounder, a very good leader, and a repeat jumper. He has a nice touch and uses the glass well. On the defensive end, Tyrell provides a lot of options as a guy who capably defends multiple positions. He has excellent footwork and quickness, he's quick laterally, has long arms, and a great motor. He guards the perimeter nicely and also rebounds at an impressive rate.

Tyrell earned player of the year honors last year in the Cardinal District and also earned All-State honors. He has the DNA and is a true 'blue blood' as his Dad was a 1,000 point scorer at Potomac High School and also earned All-State honors while leading the Panthers to the 1995 Virginia State Title! His stock is on the rise and Tyrell Harris will be one of Virginia's most highly coveted recruiting targets next season.
