Rahim Woni 6'5 215 2021 Osbourn Park HS, Manassas VA

Rahim earned all-district honors in his first varsity season last year as a junior and his senior year should find him on the receiving end of some attention from college coaches, his upside is really that good! Rahim is a strong and quick forward who is extremely athletic and bouncy. He demonstrated the shot-making skills and playmaking tools necessary to produce from the perimeter and along with Coach Coleman has begun that transition that will likely see him make the move to the wing for his senior season. He can post you or face up and score. He seeks out contact and combines his powerful frame and strong upper body with great quickness and shot-making creativity. Rahim shows a great feel for the game and his instincts are fantastic. He moves off the ball nicely and with cat-like quickness, using backdoors and misdirection steps effectively to set his man up. He uses duck-ins and really plants his man and catches the ball nicely making quick, decisive moves to the rim. With his back to the basket, he can score in a variety of ways demonstrating a very good jump hook and soft touch on the turnaround jumper. His drop-step move is powerful allowing him to create separation for either a jumper or leaning into the lane for a finish off the glass. Has a great touch with left-handed finishes and is masterful using reverse layups and spin moves.

Rahim plays off contact so nicely using his inside shoulder to create separation but also to engage his defender to create contact for spin moves and to bully his defender on drives to the rim. He uses a quick burst and rangy strides and knows how to get into his defenders body to get an angle to get to the rim and can get there in one or two dribbles from the three-point line. Rahim's athleticism is off the charts and his combination of power and quickness makes him difficult to match up against. The fact that he is so skilled in creating and using contact coupled with the ability to score from all levels makes him even that much more difficult to contain. Rahim gets excellent elevation on his jumper, especially off dribble pull-ups. He has made great strides extending his range and can knock down shots from beyond the arc at a respectable rate. Shows very good consistency in catch and shoot opportunities.

On the defensive end, he is a game-changer! Rahim is an excellent shot-blocker as he plays with a great motor and finishes the defense. He sprints the floor with quickness and fluidity and looks to contest everything. He gets off the floor so quickly and has terrific bounce, good wingspan, and timing for blocked shots where he averaged over 2 blocks per game but had games of four and five blocks! He is also an excellent rebounder summoning his athleticism, leaping ability, and effort to have several double-figure rebounding efforts last season. He has the quickness and agility that allows him to guard either wing effectively in addition to the strength and powerful leaping ability that makes him a force around the rim.

Rahim showed quick development last season in building a well-rounded game, improving on his perimeter strengths to where he is one of the more versatile players in the area. He can impact a game on both ends of the floor and from multiple positions and you can anticipate a huge senior season that should include interest from colleges at the D2 and perhaps even the D1 level.
