What Was Recently Said: MacKinnon is s a wiry, long-bodied wing prospect with a useful motor, specifically as a rebounder on either end of the floor. MacKinnon shows useful versatility and is capable of spacing the floor effectively for midrange jumpers'but can also knock down three-pointers at a high percentage. He utilizes both hands, runs the floor hard in transition, and looks to make hustle plays whenever possible. Next in his development process is working to become quicker, as it would make him a more reliable on-ball defender along the perimeter. Coach Abrams on MacKinnon: 'Ryan showed some versatility throughout the day. Offensively, he has the ability to create his own shot. He needs to work on developing his defensive ability. Overall, Ryan has a nice frame and skillset to build on.' MacKinnon made his presence felt quite nicely at camp and should only continue to progress over the coming years for Chapel Hill.

What To Expect:

Since the previous entry, Ryan Mackinnon has really evolved into an enticing prospect for various college coaches. He's able to dictate the action with the ball in his hands, apply nonstop pressure as a threat from beyond the arc, and finds ways to make a steady impact on both ends of the floor. MacKinnon understands how to succeed without requiring the ball in his hands, able to properly cut, spot-up, and find open seams within the defense. He's also a solid passer and overall creator. Mackinnon possesses nice size and utilizes it effectively to contain his assignment, battle on the glass, and play through contact when attacking closeouts. He has the tools to be successful for a variety of programs at the next level, and should be quite productive as a leader for the Tigers during his upcoming senior season.
