Catawba snags another commitment in 2021 Peyton Gerald

Catawba has been on a hot streak with their recruitment, securing several new commitments. One of those came from an extremely versatile and athletic forward in 2021 6'8 Peyton Gerald from Ardrey Kell, as he announced his decision on Monday afternoon. In speaking with Gerald, he mentioned that one of the biggest factors in his decision was the level of competition in the SAC.  He also had this to say recently about Catawba in a recent article.

'Catawba is a great program run by Coach Perron and his staff. Even though they are in the SAC, they are still at the top most years.  Coach Perron and I have a great relationship and show he has high hopes for me.  With a lot of star talent who are also very young and will be competing in years to come.  Catawba also has great academics and has my major.'

2021 Javian Cannady is heading to Mount Olive

One of the more underrated prospects in North Carolina has been 2021 Javian Cannady from Concord Academy.  The starting guard had a tremendous season in which he helped his team make a deep run and really make an impact in several areas on the court. Whether it is his unselfishness on the court, his play-making ability, or his impact on the defensive end, Cannady is simply a tremendous glue piece that coaches want on the floor.

This is why it was a great get for Mount Olive, as Cannady announced his commitment on Monday. So, what made them the right program for him' 'It felt like a family when I first got there,' he said. 'The players and coaches took me in within an hour of being on campus.'

Newest Offers:

2023 Wesley Tubbs continues to be a hot topic for college coaches, as he has been impressive with Team United to start the travel ball season.  He earned offers from Texas A&M and Wake Forest not long ago but added another from South Florida recently.

2022 Quante Berry has been a little quiet as of late but on Monday, he received a big offer from Tennessee. The Vols certainly have had their eyes his way, coming from Tennessee to North Carolina and they join others like Auburn, Wichita State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, and several others in the mix.

It seems that Wingate is in on unsigned senior 2021 6'10 Quinton Scheuermann, as he received an offer from the Bulldogs Monday night.

A 2023 big man that could quickly become a household name received an offer from his first high-major program. 2023 6'10 Donovan Raymond (Team United/West Charlotte) announced that he had received an offer from Texas A&M over the weekend.

Cannady was one that committed from Concord Academy but the program has a young freshman as well that has seemingly caught the attention of college coaches early, as 2024 Langston Boyd received an offer from Mississippi State.
