#4: 5’1 ’30 Kenneth Grooms (Jefferson)
First up, Kenneth Grooms is a 5-foot-1 prospect in the Class of 2030. Though small, he displayed an impressive combination of IQ, motor, defensive prowess, and scoring instincts. The next step in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring chances as a cutter and spot-up threat. Coach Corey on Grooms: “Kenneth has a high IQ for the game. Understands his role well. Leads vocally, which is amazing to do at his age. Shoots very confident from beyond the arc and can really handle the ball well. Plays very good perimeter defense, which turns to a lot of turnovers.” Grooms proved to be an asset during camp and has the tools to continue progressing with continued work.
#6: 5’1 ’30 Ryder Williams (Milestones Academy)
Next, Ryder Williams is a 5-foot-1 prospect in the Class of 2030. He regularly stood out through his motor, unselfishness, polished skillset, and toughness defensively. The next step in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a better finisher around the basket. Coach Corey on Williams: “Ryder has a great attitude and listens with his eyes and ears. He has a very high IQ and understands a high level of basketball vocabulary. Can shoot well when his feet are set. Attacks the rim very smartly with intentions of looking for the extra pass. Very quick on ball and moves well without the ball.” Williams made a lasting impression during camp and has the foundational skillset to progress over the coming years.
#19: 5’4 ’30 Gad Delp (Salem Christian)
Next, Gad Delp is a 5-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2030. His high IQ, nonstop motor, and ability to produce with or without the ball in his hands made him a consistent piece for this group. The next step in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him a more reliable defender at the point of attack. Coach Corey on Delp: “Gad listens very well and has a great attitude. He has a high basketball IQ with understanding his spots and utilizing them to be the best he can be. Plays with 110% effort and passion. Can shoot very well from the perimeter. Gets downhill easy and creates for others on drop-offs and kickouts. Moves well off ball to find gaps.” Delp did a lot of things well during camp and will be one to monitor going forward.
#20: 5’4 ’30 Lincoln Crow (Murray)
Next, Lincoln Crow is a 5-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2030. He’s a scrappy, unselfish player who stood out through his energy and willingness to fill in the gaps on both ends of the floor. The next step in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would make him an even better spot-up threat. Coach Corey on Crow: “Lincoln is a great kid who works really hard. Great 3-and-D guy. Finds the open man and makes the right read. Jumps on the floor for 50/50 balls. Very tough guard. Great catch-and-shoot player. Great team player. Penetrates and kicks out very well and relocates for open slot/gap.” Crow provided a steady identity throughout camp and has the tools to continue progressing over the coming years.
#42: 5’6 ’30 Tucker Burgess (Southern)
Next, Tucker Burgess is a 5-foot-6 prospect in the Class of 2030. He’s a highly skilled, polished scorer with an excellent rebounding sense and array of appealing intangibles. The next step in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would make him a better defender at the point of attack. Coach Corey on Burgess: “Tucker is very crafty around the rim. Attacks the basket very hard and plays off two feet well. Plays effectively through his body creating scoring opportunities for himself easily. Uses ball-fakes to his advantage and gets defenders off their feet. Rebounds incredibly well for his height and position.” Burgess stood out as a leader during camp and will be one to watch progress over the foreseeable future.
#77: 5’9 ’30 Cooper Crowder (Charlotte Country Day)
Next, Cooper Crowder is a 5-foot-9 prospect in the Class of 2030. He’s tough, scrappy, physical, and provides terrific effort on both ends of the floor. The next step in his progression is working to get quicker, as it would make him a better penetrating threat. Coach Corey on Crowder: “Cooper has a great attitude. Rebounds very well, gets to it at its highest point (quick second jump). Ball hawks the screen very well, creating scoring opportunities for himself on pick and pop situations. Plays with maximum effort and does whatever is asked of him. Stays on his feet on ball-fakes. Plays very good team basketball.” Crowder worked hard throughout camp and will be a player to monitor going forward.
#78: 5’9 ’30 Jeremiah Walker (Northwood Temple)
Next, Jeremiah Walker is a 5-foot-9 prospect in the Class of 2030. He’s smart, unselfish, energetic, and touches the paint at an incredible high volume. The next step in his development process is working on becoming a craftier ball-handler, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Corey on Walker: “Jeremiah is very long and lanky, which allows him to create turnovers on the defensive side of the ball. Attacks the rim with confidence, draws fouls very well to create free-throw opportunities. Quick and agile; recovers very quickly on defense. Moves without the ball very well. Great attitude and is always listening with his eyes.” Walker did a lot of things well at camp and has the tools to progress over the coming years.
#129: 6’2 ’30 Gavyn Frazer (Grifton)
Next, Gavyn Frazer is a 6-foot-2 prospect in the Class of 2030. Given his blend of size and skill, he was able to consistently cause matchup problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. The next step in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him even more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Corey on Frazer: “Gavyn plays very well down low on the block. Nice touch around the rim. Seals the block very well for position. Can hit the midrange shot as well. His ability to finish is amazing. Gavyn uses his back to the basket game smartly. Works hard and plays with maximum effort.” Frazer stood out as a difference-maker during camp and will be one to watch grow going forward.
#147: 6’4 ’30 Charles McNairy (Phillips)
Next, Charles McNairy is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2030. He highlighted a high motor, strong rebounding presence, and solid interior presence as one of the biggest campers on display. The next step in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Corey on McNairy: “Charles has a great attitude and does what is asked. Plays with 110% effort. Kills the boards when he jumps for the ball at its highest point. Quick feet for a big. Very confident. Goes for every 50/50 ball. Penetrates the paint nicely with intentions of finishing. Plays well off two feet.” McNairy displayed a variety of enticing flashes during camp and should steadily progress over the foreseeable future.
#156: 5’10 ’30 Cedric Tank (Henderson Collegiate)
Next, Cedric Tank is a 5-foot-10 prospect in the Class of 2030. He’s a tough, skilled guard who plays with poise, control, and unselfishness. The next step in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would make him a more physically imposing player. Coach Corey on Tank: “Cedric is a really aggressive guard in transition to the basket. He has a confident pull-up jumper, gets to his spots very well and plays off two feet nicely. Very long and athletic, which gives him an advantage on the defensive end. Rebounds very well for his position. Has a great attitude and listens with his eyes. Very respectful and coachable. Plays good off ball using screens to curl into his floater and midrange.” Tank made a quality impact during camp and will be a player to watch grow over the coming years.
