Tyriq is a strong and durable, high IQ playmaker who can hit the spot-up jumper or attack the basket in bullying fashion and score. 'He has a strong, filled out frame at 190 pounds that allows him to overpower many opposing guards and drive them deep into the paint but also allows him to absorb contact well. 'He also has good speed and body control in the open floor with athleticism and powerful leaping ability that allows him to play much bigger than his size. 'Tyriq is shifty and does an excellent job of powerfully changing speeds on his way to the basket where he can finish with some finesse or punish defenders initiating contact to score or get to the free-throw line. ''He can post smaller defenders or back them down but has enough shiftiness, a solid handle and speed to beat bigger defenders.

Tyriq has the ability to play either guard position as he handles the ball well, has a high IQ and demonstrates good vision and passing skills. 'Shows good touch around the rim and the ability to play through contact, scores off the dribble at a good rate. ''On the defensive end, his physical tools allows him to defend multiple positions. 'He has quick feet and ample lateral quickness in addition to his powerful frame to stifle dribble penetration. 'He is strong enough to move bodies and establish rebounding angles and has that powerful leaping ability and bounce that allows him to compete in the glass. 'Tyriq is an impact defensive presence as he wants to guard the other team's best guy and he can shut them down! 'His upper body strength, solid footwork, and mobility allows him to be a game-changing defender.

Tyriq has tremendous feel and knowledge of the game. 'His leadership skills were on full display at the recent Virginia Wesleyan University Team Camp and Old Dominion University Team Camp playing for his uncle, former Norfolk State University star and two time Virginia Independent School State Championship basketball coach Chris Brown at Jamestown High School in Williamsburg, VA. 'Tyriq was really a coach on the floor for a young team that featured his cousin and one of Virginia's top players in the 2022 class in Xavier Brown. 'Tyriq coached up players and was vocal and positive and really impressed with his poise and leadership qualities. 'He's an impressive athlete and a certain next level basketball talent while also a solid student as he carries a 3.2 GPA.
