Davion Coleman 6'6 210 2021 Great Bridge Christian Academy (Chesapeake VA)

Davion has not only put in a lot of work on his fundamentals but has really developed his body in the two months he has been at Great Bridge Christian after transferring from Anchorage Alaska. Davion has a still growing 6'6 frame with a 6'8 wingspan and potential for more length on a frame that will fill out to produce an imposing figure with an aggressive basket attacking style. Davion has the potential to provide a lot of offensive versatility with the ability to score from post ups, short face up jumpers driving or cutting to the rim, offensive rebounds, and transition baskets. He uses his powerful body to maneuver his way to the rim where he is most effective scoring off the bounce using a physical downhill style. Davion is adept at moving off the ball and finding spots to receive a pass and explode to the rim. He can hit the occasional three point jumper when he gets his feet set and is fast becoming a more efficient scorer in the middle. He is a strong, assertive finisher around the basket. Shoots the left handed jumper and has become a more disciplined and consistent shooter under new Great Bridge Christian Academy Head Coach and former UVA star guard Donald Hand. His ability to get to the rim and finish with both hands is his definite strength and he must be accounted for because of his energy and effort allowing him to slip by opponents for tip ins and keeping the ball alive off the offensive glass. He runs the floor well, is constantly in motion and is a strong rebounder. Defensively has the potential to be a multi-positional defender with quickness, strength and length. Davion moves his feet well and uses his long arms and active hands in containment. Tips passes and anticipates well in the passing lanes. Davion is strong and big enough to bang inside using a powerful first jump and quick elevation to rebound the ball high. He is a very good help side defender with shot blocking potential. Davion could blossom into a division I prospect as he has made amazing strides in short order. He really understands the game and works hard to polish up his skills and build on his frame and his nose for the ball and high motor effort really make him a productive player from various positions. A breakout year for him is easily predictable and you'll no doubt begin to see his name tossed around in recruiting circles.
