Camerin Hargraves 6'6 170 2020 Lakeland High School, Suffolk VA

Camerin is an intriguing player combining good size and length with a soft touch around the rim and the ability to space the floor with the jumper. He has very good hands and athleticism to finish plays around the rim, is quick off his feet and also moves well off the ball reading the defense and making good cuts, often off the short corner to present himself to the ball or to get a solid rebounding angle. Gets a great deal of his touches as the recipient of penetrate and dish moves from guards and does a great job making himself a target for a catch and shoot where he knocks down the jumper at a good rate out to 15-18 feet using a soft touch and sound mechanics. Camerin can put the ball on the floor for the short, straight line drive and is a very good finisher around the rim. A good passer off the dribble but really does a good job passing out of double teams or reversing the ball and finding the open man. Generally has a good feel for the game and a nice skill- level. He does a good job getting to the offensive glass and finishing or keeping possessions alive. Defensively his long wingspan, quick footwork and elevation and good timing make him a shot blocking presence especially coming off the weak side. He is a strong rebounder and has the potential to be a dominant paint presence capable of scoring and rebounding in double figures on a regular basis, he did accomplish that feat on two occasions this past season. He can defend multiple positions and projects as a wing or stretch four type as his development continues. Camerin has all tools fundamentally and athletically to be a dominant piece for one of the 757's best teams and once he gains confidence and begins to assert himself more consistently could be the ingredient that takes his team to another level while also making
himself a more attractive prospect for college coaches. Sky is the limit! His coach at Lakeland High School is former Norfolk State University star Clint Wright, Sr who has won championships at the high school and college level as a player and as a high school coach so he knows what it will take for his young Lakeland team to get to the level. He says Camerin can be a crucial piece for them. 'Cam comes to Lakeland High school as a quality power forward, has the ability to gather rebounds in bunches. His 15' midrange jump shot is consistently available and because most post players don't think he can consistently make it, many times Cam has proved them wrong. Football, which was his favorite sport, has allowed him to absorb the physicality of the Southeastern District forwards. Cam makes gathering defensive rebounds and then beating everyone down the floor looks so easy, it has become contagious and his skill set is a luxury to have at Lakeland. His favorite NBA player is Kevin Durant. Although quiet and humble he's a fierce giant that plays from deep within. Cam is very solid in the classroom with no academic or behavioral issues. He is critical to the success of basketball at Lakeland High School.' – Coach Clint Wright, Sr.
