The 6th Annual Phenom High School Jamboree will take place Saturday, November 3rd at Northwest Guilford High School and Proehlific Park in Greensboro, North Carolina. This event has always gathered some of the top private and public school teams in the state and this year is no exception. 40 teams and 60 games will be played in an exhibition format. Last season, Coach JD Johnson had a successful season at Statesville Christian and did a phenomenal of rebuilding their program. With Cape Fear going 11-20, the school looked to coach Johnson as the person to help rebuild their program. Now, let’s take a closer look at the players that will make an impact for the 2018-19 season.

 

6’9 2019 Michael Okoye

Okaye missed the entire 2017-18 season with an injury. In speaking with coach Powell, he stated, “Okaye has been given a 100% bill of heath. He is a very strong and tremendous athlete, not to mention an excellent rebounder on both ends of the court. In addition, Ok

 

6’5 2019 Marcus Owens

Marcus is the son of former Mr. Basketball and Wake Forest great Trelonnie Owens. He is a lefty slasher and attacks the rim with authority. Coach Powell stated, “Owens plays strong and has an excellent post-up game and a nice stroke from the perimeter.

 

6’2 2019 G EJ Bethea

Bethea is a strong guard. He can get to the rim and has nice mid range game, not to mention being an excellent 3-point shooter. Best of all, he is a very unselfish and team first guard. He sees the floor extremely well and already sports an offer from Lees-McRae

6’0 2019 Riley Adams

Adams is the definition of a true floor general.Simply put, he will make your team better. He has a good understanding of the game and is consistently making the right play at the right time. He is the type of player that will make any program better. He has the skill set, fundamentals, and impeccable feel for the game.

 

6’6 2019 Dillon Butler

Butler is a long wing. He is an excellent spot-up 3-point shooter and a nice feathery touch from the midrange. In addition Butler is a highly confidence young man who has a high basketball IQ and tremendous feel for the game. He’s a smart player and has a nice high academic resume to boot.

 

5’8 2019 Lucas Capalbo

This is his first year in the United States from Uruguay. He is a very strong guard with excellent handles. He has the ability to finish effectively and can light it up from the perimeter. He is an elite spot-up shooter, but can also create his own shot off the dribble.

 

6’5 2019 Ramiro Arrillaga

Arrillaga is another first year player who is in the United State.Type of kid who could be an undersized 4. Very strong with a great frame. Strong driver, skilled passer and very good spot up 3 shooter. HIGH academic and HIGH bball IQ. Tremendous worker and leader.
