Millbrook High School

The last five (5) years have been quite a run for Millbrook High School. Located in Raleigh, North Carolina, the program has been to a state championship game, and two (2) state final fours. Even as notably, Millbrook has put many players throughout the many layers of the college landscape.

This year’s team offers a group of six (6) players that are vastly under recruited. With the run Millbrook experienced over the summer and their performance in this event, D1, D2, and D3 schools should find themselves spending a lot of time in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Last season, Millbrook made a run to the North Carolina Eastern 4A championship game, where they experienced a heart breaking loss to eventual state champion Garner. That team sent a player to Campbell University, Hampden Sydney, and Winston Salem State. More importantly toward this year’s team, that team lost 80% of its scoring.

Throughout the summer, this team won every game they played. Not only did they win every game, they won by an average of double figures. This team returns only one (1) starter from last year’s team. 6’6” forward Faison Brock. But, Brock is just the start of the players that are under recruited here.

Millbrook went 3-0 in the Phenom High School Jamboree. They beat Atlantic Shores (Chesapeake, Va), Word of God (Raleigh, NC) and Concord Prep (Concord, NC). They won these games in convincing fashion

The Team
6’6” Senior Faison Brock
Brock did all the dirty work, the things that many players just don’t enjoy doing. Jason Porter of All Star Preps stated,“Faison Brock, sr wing from Millbrook HS always looks smooth out on the floor. Kid deserves more looks, he can play!”James Blackburn of Basketball Elite stated, “Faison Brock is a 6’6” SR F from Millbrook HS who is athletic and rebounds the ball well.” Faison has an offer from Fayetteville State. Expect many D2s to come into play and expect D1s to start looking.

6’5” Senior Trejon Jacob
Jacob showed to be a versatile scoring shooting guard. The lefty shot with deep range, scored in transition, and attacked the rim in the half court. Corey Evans of Roundball Report stated, “Trejon Jacob has been great all day here for Millbrook. Long and lefty shot maker with defensive versatility.” Bryan LaRussa of Playmaker Mixtapes stated, “Trejon Jacob is showing off how athletic he is right now. Just slammed home an alley oop and then hit a step back 3.” Jacob carries offers from Fayetteville State and Missouri Southern. Expect his recruitment to shift to a D1 focus, and have options.

5’11” Senior John Burwell
Burwell is a downhill aggressive type guy. He and Whitfield set the tone for the team on both ends of the court. Jason Porter of All Star Preps stated, “Millbrook HS puts it on Concord Prep in a big way here. Srs Faison Brock and John Burwell lead the way for the cats.” Burwell doesn’t have any offers currently, but should be looked at at the D2/D3 level.

6’4” Senior Rashad George
George is a big wing. He plays the role of glue guy well. He defends the wing and the perimeter. He makes shots within the offense. George does not currently have any offers, but should be looked at at the D3 level.

6’1” Junior Jordan Whitfield
Whitfield has been on the radar since his 8th grade year. He is finally coming into his own as a player. He was an aggressive downhill lead guard. He attacked the basket relentlessly, and made shots with range off the catch. Rick Lewis of Phenom Hoop Report stated, “My “tough as nails” award goes to Jordan Whitfield. He may not be the flashiest, but the young man is a winner.” James Blackburn of Basketball Elite stated, “Jordan Whitfield(2017 Millbrook HS) moves without ball and has a high IQ. He makes plays.” Whitfield currently carries an offer from Campbell. Look for that D1 list to grow through the year and into the summer.

6’5” Junior Patrick Dorsey
Dorsey has great size and deep deep range. He is a high IQ guy, moving off the ball always seeming to find the open space. Dorsey is a high GPA kid and should start to be looked at by Patriot and Ivy Schools with D3s and D2s all over him.
