The Phenom Grassroots TOC is this weekend in Rock Hill/Fort Mill, as it is the first LIVE Period with Phenom Hoops this season. The talent pool runs deep throughout and we want to give college coaches a leg up on who to watch and who will be in action. Here are a few players to check out for each team.
Team Trezz
Eli Preddy- Well-rounded guard with IQ and a quick first step. Handles the ball well, makes plays for others, and scores with efficiency. Displays great penetration instincts. Defends the point of attack effectively.
Keyon Webb- Balanced combo guard with great feel and ability to play with or without the ball in his hands. Makes smart decisions, shoots the ball with consistency from distance, and contains his assignment well defensively.
Treyvon Byrd- Long, wiry, explosive forward. Has shown ability to handle the ball and make plays as needed. Improved as a shooter. Excels in the open floor. Difficult to stop from finishing around the basket.
Ty Outlaw- Big, strong physical post prospect with a muscular frame. Does the dirty work and doesn’t require offensive touches to make an impact. Athletic finisher with solid touch. Mobile for his size and causes problems for opponents with his presence as a defender and rebounder.
Dylan Purnell- All-around wing with size, skill and athleticism. Does a little bit of everything within the flow of a game. Scores the ball in a variety of different ways. Displays no glaring weaknesses on either end of the floor.
Rashon Leach- Scoring guard with vision, toughness, and secondary creation ability. Able to apply constant pressure in transition and the open floor. Quick and can create his own shot. Finishes and shoots the ball well from distance.
TJ Lester- Long, wiry forward with touch and mobility. Displays useful athleticism and interior ability on both ends of the floor.
Torey Alston- Forward prospect with useful length and interior toughness. Utilizes his long arms to alter shots and secure rebounds. Capable finisher.
Khawan Bobbitt- Strong, physical, athletic wing/forward prospect with a high motor and natural nose for the ball on both ends. Makes hustle plays within the flow of the action. Great around the basket and in the open floor. Rebounds well.
