The Phenom Grassroots TOC is this weekend in Rock Hill/Fort Mill, as it is the first LIVE Period with Phenom Hoops this season. The talent pool runs deep throughout and we want to give college coaches a leg up on who to watch and who will be in action. Here are a few players to check out for each team, presented by the head coach.

Carolina Riptide 2025

Jay Morgan

2025

6'2' Wing

Jay is a true glue guy that contributes in whatever way his team needs. Whether its defending, rebounding, shooting or distributing the ball, Jay plays with effort and energy and is willing to unselfishly do the dirty work, as well as knock down open shots. Jay attends Lake Norman Charter where he was named offensive POY for the JV squad. They are fortunate to have landed such a gamer.

Ethan Morgan

2025

6'1' Guard

Ethan is a lengthy point guard that plays with poise and composure, yet plays hard on both ends of the floor. He's a leader on the floor, with playmaking skills that makes his teammates better. His unselfish play sets the tone for the Riptide, a team that prides itself on making the extra pass to get the better shot. Ethan plays for Pine Lake Prep where he started on varsity as a freshman and they are lucky to have such a great leader for the next 3 years.

Jack Sullivan

2025

6'0' Guard

Jack (Sully) is the emotional leader of this Riptide team. He plays at one speed: breakneck. Sully goes all out every play and is willing to sacrifice his body to help his team win. He's able to guard 1-4, rebounds well, puts pressure on opposing defenses and looks to set-up his teammates. Jack attends Community School of Davidson and they will benefit from Jack laying everything on the line each and every game (and practice).

Joseph Bruce

2025

5'8' Guard

An undersized guard, JoJo proves the old adage true that it's not the size of the dog in the fight. He's a relentless defender that pesters opposing guards and bigs alike. He has a high basketball IQ, understands the game and plays within himself. He's a knockdown 3 point shooter and is developing his playmaking ability as he continues to grow and get stronger. Joe attends Lincoln Charter, where he made varsity as a freshman and earned playing time on a strong team that went 23-5.

Austin Moran

2025

6'0' Guard

Austin is a natural athlete, blessed with good size for a guard combined with quickness and speed. He's got a nice mid-range game and with his speed and ability to get to the rim is starting to develop his playmaking abilities. Defensively, he's a lockdown on-the-ball defender that takes pride in marking the opponents best athletes. Austin attends Community School of Davidson, where he made varsity as a freshmen and earned playing team and even a few starts.

Jackson Fannon

2025

6'5' Wing

Jackson is a good sized wing that is a knockdown shooter. Jackson shoots a high percentage from 3, has a nice mid-range game and shoots better than 80% from the free throw line. Jackson is a new addition to the Riptide and he's fit in nicely with his new team. Jackson attends East Lincoln, where he made varsity as a freshman and scored a season-high 20 points with 6 threes against Statesville High.

Caden Mendolia

2025

6'3' Wing

Caden is another new Riptide player that has acclimated very quickly in the team-first environment. He supplies energy and hustle every time he steps on the court and adds size and rebounding as well grit for his new team. Not at all one dimensional, Caden has a good stroke and looks to get to the basket as well. Caden attends South Iredell where he had a season-high of 28 points for the JV team against Alexander Central.
