Wesleyan Christian and Glenn kicked off Game 3 on Saturday at Greensboro Day.  Two teams that some may have not seen but should start getting some notice as both came out and competed.  In the first half, Wesleyan’s offense found their rhythm early led by 2020 Asiaiah Phillips who impacted the game scoring and rebounding.  Scoring inside and out, Wesleyan was effective all-around (went 13-for-25 from the floor, 6-for-12 from three).

Glenn was led by Zion Dixon and Jeremiah Scales, both scoring 8 points in the first half but they had trouble slowing down Wesleyan’s offense, who led by as many as 11 points.

Halftime: Wesleyan Christian 35 – Glenn 30

In the second half, Wesleyan continued to score the ball consistently inside and out.  Phillips was able to distribute and get others involved, as Kaleb Brooks and Josh Wiggins finished with 30 total points (along with 18 points for Phillips).  Wesleyan finished the game shooting 50 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three.

Glenn, how made a small run to close the gap, continued to compete and hustle, led by Julius Reese Jr. who finished with a double-double (22 points, 10 rebounds).  Glenn couldn’t find their perimeter game though, going 3-for-18 from behind the arc.
