Phenom Hoops tuned in Saturday afternoon as Mountain Island and Pine Lake Prep battled it out on the court.  A very intriguing battle between these two winning programs this year, it looked to be a close battle and it certainly was.

The game started out slow, as Pine Lake Prep was able to get out to a 12-6 as JT Harper and Cole Callaway led the charge early for Pine Lake.  Mountain Island continued to be right there though throughout, especially with the play of their two seniors in Marquis Williams and Najee Steward, two long prospects that finished well, created for themselves, and rose over defenders. Much of the same continued in the second quarter, as Pine Lake Prep held the narrow 22-19 lead.

Second half, Callaway continued to knock down shots from inside and out, really leading the charge offensively while senior Trace Forest did a tremendous job in attacking and getting to the line but also getting others involved. With that, Pine Lake was able to create a little more separation heading into the fourth quarter, leading 38-30.

It was a back-and-forth affair throughout and Mountain Island continued to stay within striking distance but Pine Lake Prep made several big plays to hold off the Raptors and take home an impressive 48-42 win.
