Last game of the night for us, IMG and AZ Compass squared off which brought even more talent to the floor.' By the end of the first quarter, both teams were all squared up at 14, as IMG shot the ball well and was able to score inside the arc while AZ Compass found ways to score but didn't find as much success from outside.' IMG's defense was strong early on, as AZ Compass shot around 43 percent from the floor but was 1-for-7 from three.' IMG though was effective on both sides, which helped them take a one-point lead into halftime.'

The third quarter was a big determining factor in this game, as AZ Compass came out cold from the floor, shooting 1-for-10 from the floor and was outscored 15-7 in the quarter.  The guard play continued to help lead the charge for IMG, as they were able to expand their lead into the fourth quarter.  Even though AZ Compass was able to chip into the lead late, it was IMG that was able to walk away with a crucial victory, 58-53.  AZ shot 37 percent from the floor, while IMG finished the game shooting 51 percent and 5-for-10 from three.

Final: IMG Academy 58 ' AZ Compass 53

IMG: Jamie Kaiser 17pts/ Jacoi Hutchinson 17pts/ Khani Rooths 10pts
AZ: Tru Washinton 9pts, 5rebs/ Zayden High 8pts, 7rebs/ Terrence Hill Jr. 8pts

Standouts:

2023 Jacoi Hutchinson (IMG): One way to describe Hutchinson's game today was tough.' Hutchinson did a great job in being effective from the floor scoring-wise, making plays off the dribble, getting into the defense, and finishing strong through defenders.' He was one of the clear leaders on the floor and stepped up when his team needed him with 17 big points, going 7-for-10 from the floor.

2023 Jamie Kaiser (IMG): Also liked what I saw from our guy Kaiser.  Kaiser, I believe, is going to be a vital piece for Maryland.  He has size and scoring capabilities from all over the court, as he finished strong around the basket but also was able to show his fluid release from three and ability to get to the line.  Just a natural feel and knows how to put the ball in the basket.

Also of note, 2024 6'7 Khani Rooths (IMG) grabbed my attention.  He has the length you like, he ran the floor and showcased his athleticism at the rim, moved extremely well and was agile, was active on the boards and defensively, and also made some nice passes as well.  Enjoyed his overall feel for the game and have to think he will receive more attention.

2024 Pharaoh Compton (AZ Compass): Though he played 10 minutes, you simply just have to love the worth-ethic and motor that the forward plays with. He is relentless and he plays so hard, running the floor, finishing strong at the rim, and just being a force on both sides.
