Oak Hill: 20 ' 12 ' 13 ' 19: 64
Ridge View: 10 ' 18 ' 8 ' 15: 51

The second game of the night brought us Oak Hill coming into the lion's den of Ridge View, as there were several storylines coming into this one.  Early on, Oak Hill's Zion Pipkin led the charge to give his team a double-digit lead at the end of the first quarter, 20-10.  But give credit to Ridge View, as they continued to battle, started to get the offense going, battled on the boards, and started to chip away at the lead, eventually only being down 32-28 at halftime. In the start of the second half, the energy continued to remain high, as Ridge View continued to battle and look to cut into the lead. But Oak Hill responded well to keep their lead at 45-36 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter though, Oak Hill started to pull away and build a comfortable lead, eventually taking home the 64-51 on Day 1.

Standouts:

2024 Zion Pipkin (Oak Hill): Each time we have seen Pipkin, the guard has played well and showcased his ability to be a scoring threat while also making plays with the ball in his hands. Pipkin can score confidently from all three levels, shows a quick burst in his game, creates off the dribble, and did a nice job in also helping on the boards and finding teammates in this game.

2024 Dontae Russo-Nance (Oak Hill): First time seeing Russo-Nance this year and the 2024 prospect really gave us a glimpse of how smooth he can be on the court. Whether it was his ability to get to the open spots off the ball and knock down perimeter shots with an effortless release, or his IQ/feel in being able to get around defenders and score.' He started out slow but came on strong in the game, scoring off the catch or off the dribble. Plays at a great pace.

2023 Drayton Jones (Oak Hill): The senior big man is one that continues to grab my attention; the 6'10 forward plays extremely hard and with a ton of energy and I think his best basketball is ahead of him. Jones though was able to show touch and be active around the basket or on the boards, as well as make it tough for defenders defensively, blocking a few shots as well.

2024 Jayden Pretty (Ridge View): Pretty is a player that captured our eyes with his production this summer and continues to be a warrior on the court. Though a little undersized, he competes in the paint, embraces contact, and battles on both ends. He moves well and can make plays happen around the basket, as he helped lead his team.

2024 Joshua Smith (Ridge View): Smith had a solid night, even though shots from behind the arc didn't quite fall. Smith though did have flashes in making plays happen off the dribble and penetrating the defense, showing nice touch and lift on his shot, as he led the way with 10 points.
