Dorman kicked off their season against JL Mann at home at the Dorman Tip-Off, as both teams were hoping to look strong early on.  Dorman settled for outside shots early but started to use their big's and find more of their offense in the second quarter, while making it tough on the defensive end for JL Mann.  It helped them earn a 29-20 halftime lead, as Breazeale hit a big three at the buzzer.

In the second half, it was a game of runs for both teams. Dorman started out strong to create a little distance but JL Mann had a small run of their own to respond.  Dorman then answered it again with a run once again to create another double-digit lead and they simply never looked back, as they were able to secure the 65-48 victory to start the season.

Standouts

2022 Noah Clowney: Clowney started off strong, as the big man is getting his chance to be the guy down low. He ran the floor well, showed good touch and ability to use his size around the paint, while also getting to the line and even knocking down a smooth mid-range jumper.

2021 Earl Burgess: The senior forward was terrific, showing his touch and mobility around the rim, as he worked hard on both ends.  Burgess has a good feel of finding those openings and getting the ball around the rim with a soft touch but he was terrific on the boards, just coming up one short of a double-double in the win.

2021 Jalen Breazeale: Breazeale played well in both the halfcourt and out in transition, showing that he knows how to operate and lead the offense. He uses his speed really well to penetrate and kick to find his teammates but also made two big three's in the game, one at the buzzer at halftime and another to stop the JL Mann in the second half.
