Player Notes:

2023 Derin Saran (Asheville School) had another strong showing in this game. The senior point guard has had a great start to the season, showing why he is one of the top point guards in the region. He was able to really get going offensively after the first quarter, creating well off the dribble, getting into the paint consistently, and finding ways to showcase his touch and feel inside the arc as well as get to the line. It is easy to see why so many schools are looking his way with his feel with the basketball, along with his IQ and playmaking ability. Also really like his defensive presence, something he doesn't always get credit for. He finished with a huge game, scoring 30 points in the win.

2024 Ryan Soulis (Asheville School) continues to be a name that is rising up the ranks personally, as the 6'10 big man continues to play extremely well, always moving and staying active, and you have to love how he uses his length and touch to finish in the paint and over the shoulder. He should really start garnering more eyes his way with his production on the boards and his developing game his season. Soulis showed why he is a rising name, finishing with 22 points in the win.

2023 Lukas Walls (Webb) who is committed to Samford, started out slow but started to pick it up in the second half. Walls has good size, moves well and can be versatile on the floor on both ends, understands how to post up and use his quickness against bigs well but also play strong on the boards and make plays off the dribble. Really liked his vision in making strong passes to open teammates, as well as his ability to make plays in a variety of ways and rebound well.

One thing that we noticed is that Webb is going to be a team to really watch for with the young talent they have coming up and the valuable experience they are receiving.  2026 Owen Lentz was really strong and showcased his range with multiple threes throughout the game.  But you also have to look at players like 2026 Cameron Swearengen, 2026 Brayden Hazelbaker, and 2027 Tahj Bowers.  Swearengen and Hazelbaker are two young guards, while Bowers is a young flourishing big getting some early minutes.

2024 Drake Ingram (Webb) also stepped up with big shots in this game, showing his pull-up game and range on multiple occasions to help lead the charge.
