The final championship game on the night, Trinity Academy and The Burlington School battled it out in the 2A Division.  Both teams have had strong seasons and wanted to end it with a ring, as there was a ton of talent on the court in this one.  The game kind of started out slow for both teams, as Trinity Academy took the narrow one-point lead after the first quarter. 2023 Kevon Vanderhorst continued his strong first play into the second quarter as well, scoring effectively and finishing well.  He was the main catalyst for Trinity, as it helped Trinity Academy hold a 26-21 halftime lead.

In the third quarter, The Burlington School started to find more of their offense and eventually took the lead once again and expanded their lead to as many as seven before leading at the end of the third 40-35. The low-scoring affair was a battle all throughout and we expected that to continue into the fourth quarter as well.

The Burlington School continued to play well defensively in the second half and they were able to eventually create enough separation late.  They had a balanced attack with their guards and bigs, creating a double-digit lead late and sealing the championship from the free throw line.  In the end, TBS got the job done on both ends in the second half and secured the victory.

Final: The Burlington School 57 ' Trinity Academy 45

2023 Kavon Vanderhorst (Trinity): The junior guard helped his team get to the championship game and played strong once again in this one. He plays with a ton of confidence and brings a nice blend of playmaking ability for his teammates, scoring for himself, and toughness to the court. Love how poise he is with the ball in his hands.

2024 Zion Walker (TBS): It has been well known what Walker brings to the table and he showed it once again, stepping up scoring in a variety of ways, finishing well around the basket, and also really bringing that energy that the team needed on the defensive end.

2023 Michael Nwoko (TBS): Nwoko has been a great addition for TBS this season and looked to be an x-factor in this game with his size and strength.  He showcased that on several occasions, being a strong presence in the paint and on the boards.
