Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Jordon Nevill
Class: 2023
Committed to: Queens

What Was Said by Phenom Hoops:

“If I’m looking for a player still available in the class of 2023 that can be a huge threat from behind the arc, then 2023 Jordon Nevill is on top of my list and it is almost easy to see.  This is a young man so far this season, is posting averages of 23.3ppg, has hit 109 3-pointers this season (so far), and hitting 48 percent from behind the arc.  And this isn’t just a great year for the senior guard, as he is coming off a junior season in which he hit over 120 3-pointers at nearly 50 percent.  Averaging nearly five 3-pointers a game this year, Nevill easily could be a great weapon for a program needing a shooter with range.”

“It doesn’t take very long to notice the highly entertaining way that Jordon Nevill approaches the game—especially as the focal point. He’s an exceptional shot-maker with the combination of range, craftiness, and creation skills to seemingly apply nonstop pressure as a scorer. Nevill mixes it up at a healthy rate, but is arguably at his best when launching bombs from beyond the arc. Whether hitting jumpers off the catch, bounce, or movement, it doesn’t seem to shake his consistency. That being said, Nevill is also a useful playmaker with great pace and the ability to get where he wants on the floor with the ball in his hands. While his game is quite different from most prospects within the landscape, Nevill should have a bevy of coaches in pursuit over these next few months.”

“There may have not been a player I was more excited to see as an unsigned senior than Nevill and he delivered. It astonishes me that there aren’t more programs coming his way, as I know there are programs that could use a lights-out shooter from deep.  He showed that and just how confident he is, as he continues to be one of the leaders in 3-point made field goals, and is nearly shooting 50 percent from behind the arc; those are crazy numbers.  But he also opened up more with his ability to drive and create downhill, finding other ways to score the basketball.”
