Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Iverson King
Class: 2024
Committed to: Presbyterian
What Has Been Said:
“Iverson King is one of the most versatile and talented wings in the state. He has great positional size and has the ability to guard multiple positions on the court. Iverson really excels attacking the basket and getting to his spots in the midrange. He also showcased his ability to hit shots from the perimeter. Iverson is more than capable of scoring the basketball from all 3 levels. I am shocked that more schools are not recruiting him. He has the ability to impact the game offensively, defensively, and on the glass. Look for him to have a huge senior season for the Furies.”
“The Team Charlotte program always has a variety of enticing prospects, so it’s surprising to see the lack of recruitment for someone like King. He’s a strong, polished wing with creation skills, penetration instincts, and the ability to apply downhill pressure or hit perimeter jumpers. King does a great job of attacking the basket, drawing fouls, setting up others, and finishing through contact. He’s a useful rebounder with the ability to push the break in transition. King also plays passing lanes well defensively.”
“There was something I saw in King’s game that I haven’t seen in the past. Whether it was a stronger mindset to his game or just an overall development, King really impressed me with how assertive he was and bringing that physical presence to the court for his team. King has shown his ability to be a scorer from outside and knock down shots, but he was way more aggressive in penetrating the paint, attacking a defender, and looking for contact and either finishing or getting to the line. He also used that same aggressive nature to be a strong force on the boards.”
“I continue to be impressed with what King has shown us this weekend; it seems that he is taking that next step in his game and understanding how to be more assertive at his size and just exactly what he can do. King continues to do a great job in helping on the boards and also attacking downhill, finishing around defenders and through contact. His ability to take defenders off the bounce but also knock down shots make him intriguing.”
