Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Tyrese Melo
Class: 2023
Committed to: Northwest Florida

What Was Said by Phenom:

“Melo was back in action with Phenom Hoops, and it was good to see more about his game and what he can provide on the court.  Last year, you really got a chance to see more of his scoring impact, but now he has been mixing it up in showing how he can help run a team on the court.  On Day 3 though, Melo was quite impressive vs. CP3 in going back to being a big-time weapon, knocking down shots, creating off the dribble, being a primary creator, and making quality decisions with the ball in his hands.”

“He’s a long, wiry guard with an excellent blend of IQ, skill, leadership traits, and physical tools. Melo comfortably dictates the offensive action with the ball in his hands, constantly breaking down opponents, touching the paint, and generating scoring chances for himself and others. He’s a crafty, unselfish playmaker with the necessary vision and feel to consistently make the right play. Melo scores the ball at a healthy yet efficient rate from all three levels, and mixes it up enough to keep opponents in limbo. He utilized his blend of quickness, quality handle, and sharp change of direction to get wherever he wanted on the floor. Additionally, Melo is a lockdown defender with terrific instincts, activity level, and the ability to toggle between multiple positions. He rebounds his position well and does a great job of pushing the break in transition.”

“Melo continues to be a name that pops up and is one that has college coaches buzzing around, as he put on another strong display in front of programs on Sunday. You can’t help but love this kids smooth nature on the floor, while also being a big-time shotmaker. Whether it is creating with the dribble to find his pull-up or getting to his spots off the ball for his shot, Melo continues to show his ability to score the ball.”
