Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Michael Phillips
Class: 2025
Committed to: Marquette

What Has Been Said:

“It has been a steady development for this young man but when you watch his game, you can see that this was a prospect with untapped potential. It seemed like it was just a matter of time until we saw his game come all together. When talking about Phillips’ game, his blend of athleticism, size at 6’6, impact on both sides of the floor, his shot-making, and again his potential make him a very unique prospect with a blossoming skillset that sets him apart.”

“The 6’5 long, lengthy prospect is showing the ability to be a difference-maker on both ends of the court.  His confidence and shot-making from behind the arc continue to improve drastically, he is getting stronger and adding more to his game, he brings a lot of versatility with his length, and also is making plays on the defensive side of the ball. There is a lot to like and Phillips is quickly trending high up the rankings, especially if he continues to lock in, work on his game, and continue to develop… all the cards are there to make him something special.”

“He’s a long, fairly skilled wing prospect who is already quite impactful yet truly just beginning to harness his long-term abilities. Phillips can handle and pass the ball nicely for his size, but also displays useful scoring instincts and the understanding of how to mix it up offensively. He’s a capable perimeter shooter, but typically prefers to get downhill and attack the basket. Phillips utilizes his length really well to disrupt opponents defensively, force turnovers, and finish inside the paint. He plays hard and competes well for rebounds on both ends of the floor. Phillips should be a definite leader for Grace Christian over the foreseeable future, so it’ll be exciting to watch his continued development.”

“Phillips is a player I have gone on the record of saying that college coaches should be looking at him hard and though he holds a few offers right now, he is one that I believe should hold double-digit offers by the end of this summer… and the upside is still all there. This is a 6’5 long prospect that has athleticism, shot making, and impacts both sides while also being a player that has so much left in his game in what he could ultimately be.”
