Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.

Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Shanon Simango
Class: 2024
Committed to: Dartmouth

What Has Been Said:

“Simango is an absolute battler on the court. Every time we see him, even though many say he is a bit undersized, he is going to compete on the boards and in the paint. 6’11 wingspan, active all over, strong hands, finishes strong and plays bigger than listed. He leaves it all out on the court each time we watch this big man.”

“The 6’7 forward who already holds one offer from Hampton, played extremely well when we watched him, going for 17 points and nine rebounds.  Though some may say he could be a bit undersized, he is a player that brings production to the table with his energy, his motor, and feel for the game. He is getting his first real chance to showcase his full game as one of the go-to guys down in the paint, using his 6’11 wingspan well, attacking the boards on both sides, and being active around the paint.  He possesses good footwork and runs the floor well also, and he could be a name that more schools start looking at.”

“Simango may have not been the go-to player for his team but he did an excellent job in being productive. A strong, physical forward, Simango really displayed a tremendous motor in battling and finding ways to score, being assertive in finishing through and around defenders, and being aggressive on the boards.”

“Simango might have not been the biggest spotlight on the floor but when you look at his production and statline, the 6’7 forward finished with 17 points and nine rebounds. Simango just seems to find ways to be productive, whether it is battling and being physical in the paint, attacking the boards, or moving without the ball to find opportunities. Simango moves well for his size and is that big, physical forward that you love having down low, bruising up opponents.”
