Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day. It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player.
Here is the latest commitment.
Player: Chris Eagan
Class: 2025
Committed to: American
“He’s a long, wiry, skilled forward/post prospect with a nice blend of touch, post moves, and perimeter shooting. Eagan finishes well around the basket, but also spaces the floor well and is capable of attacking closeouts against opposing big men. He displays quality footwork, vision, and scoring moves on the block. Eagan is a solid defender with great off-ball instincts and rebounding prowess. He alters shots well inside the paint and understands how to navigate screening actions defensively.”
“He’s a long, wiry, skilled forward/post prospect with an excellent blend of IQ, touch, and perimeter shooting. Eagan is a fluid athlete with great instincts for pursuing rebounds and altering shots defensively. He handles the ball very well for his size, makes smart passes, and seems to get better with each new viewing. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would only make him more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Buchannan on Eagan: “Chris is an extremely skilled lefty with good touch and great shot-blocking instincts. Left-hand dominant but gets to it well. Coachable, positive teammate, but needs to improve aggression on the glass. Fluid athlete with the ability to lead a break as a big in transition. He’s a good passer, but could stand to be a little more vocal because he has earned credibility as a leader with his play.”
“With his ability to run the floor and his soft touch around the rim at such a young age, it really makes him one to watch in the future. He also showed me today that he has the ability to step out and hit the 15-footer, which is good because his solid mechanics show that one day, he will be able to step out and hit the three-ball consistently. With Eagan’s skillset and huge upside, I expect him to be playing at the collegiate level when he is older if he puts in the hours.”
“Eagan is one that we have highlighted and talked about before, as the North Carolina forward continues to develop his overall feel. Eagan continues to show tremendous footwork and a fluid feel in operating around the paint, as well as being active on the glass. But what really impressed us as well was his vision to find his teammates as a big man, setting up teammates for easy baskets.”
