Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player. Here is the latest commitment.

Player: Chance Gladden
Class: 2025
Committed to: Boston University

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

“He’s a smart, unselfish guard prospect with a high motor and very well-rounded skillset. Gladden is an efficient three-level scorer who can create for himself and others with relative ease. He mixes it up from all levels, but looks to get others involved and make the right decision with the ball in his hands. Gladden is a reliable all-around defender who shuts down his assignment on a consistent basis. Additionally, his exceptional cutting/spot-up instincts allow him to seamlessly toggle between either guard position. Coach Grady on Gladden: “Chance plays with great pace and is a knockdown shooter. Good size for his position at the point guard spot. Great decision maker with the ball—usually capitalizing on the defender’s mistakes. He has the ability to score on all three levels. He can get better at getting paint touches and finishing in traffic.”

“Gladden has been having a tremendous season and has been putting up some impressive performances. He continued to flourish in a tough battle at the Garner MLK Showcase, Gladden continues to flourish and be the go-to leader as a scoring option. Gladden was able to make plays and penetrate the defense, score well around defenders, get inside the basket, put pressure on the defense, and knock down shots.”

“After a highly productive high school season where no schools extended offers, Gladden has received five scholarships (Boston, Hampton, Presbyterian, Stetson, and Northeastern) since May. He provides an incredibly reliable shooting presence in addition to IQ, shot creation, and playmaking ability. Gladden has great size, which is visible as a defender and rebounder. He’s the type of low-maintenance player who can consistently impact the game with or without the ball in his hands. He’s previously shown the ability to shine as the primary focal point, but has found equal success when playing in a role. College coaches should continue to aggressively pursue Gladden, as his malleability makes him an appealing target for all types of programs.”
