The Phenom Challenge is one of the biggest events around the region and in the country, as 180 teams look to compete at the highest level.
We are expecting a HUGE turnout for this event in Spartanburg, SC on April 26-28. So, Phenom Hoop Report wants to do our part in starting the buzz for the event.
Players and teams, of all ages, will have a chance to play in front of college coaches throughout the weekend. But here are a few players to watch out for, as we preview teams that will be competing.

Team: Team Carolina Elite 17u
Kurtis Taylor III (Class: 2020 / Position: Guard / Forward / Height: 6’5″)
Kurtis attended the Phenom #NCTop80 and performed well. He is a starter for Neuse Christian Academy where he won Mid Atlantic All-Conference honors in 2018-19.
Eric Walston (Class: 2020 / Position: Wing / Height: 6’5″)
Eric leads the New Life Storm this year with a 21 PPG average. He is an all-around leader on and off the court with the ability to score from every spot.
Deon Daniels (Class: 2020 / Position: Guard / Height: 6’3″)
Deon Daniels starred for Leesville Road High School this year where he dropped 32 on conference rival Millbrook High School.
Alvin (AJ) Campbell (Class: 2020 / Position: Guard / Forward / Height: 6’5″)
AJ played for Heritage High School this year and scored 17 in his game last weekend. He is a very athletic, long player who can shoot.
John Shutt (Class: 2020 / Position: Guard / Height: 6’0″)
John average 25ppg with his fall team, the Chatham Thunder. He is a smart, athletic point guard with great scoring ability.
Mikey Bent (Class: 2019 / Position: Guard / Height: 6’0″)
Mikey is a homegrown Team Carolina product and has started for the 17U team for 2 years. He is a gifted scorer and team leader.
