Check out a few names to look out for.

Team: NC Spartans 16u

Landon Efird – 2021 / G / 6’3”

Landon is a smooth, lefty with a high basketball IQ. Making the right reads offensively and defensively, he always seems to find himself in the right place at the right time.

Adam Vincent – 2021 / G / 6’5”

Adam Vincent is a long, rangy, athletic guard who can score at all three levels. A near automatic stroke from outside, mid-range pull-up or floater, and he has no problem finishing over, or on, a defender at the rim.

Dawson McAlhany – 2022 / G / 6’4”

Dawson played big-time varsity minutes as a freshman for the NCHSAA 1A State Champions Bishop McGuinness Villains and is looking for a breakout summer. Dawson has a good range with his smooth lefty jumper and is able to penetrate and get his shot off over defenders with his length (6’8” wingspan). With his craftiness and leaping ability, this guy is one to keep your eye on in the uprising 2022 class.

Chris DeAngelis – 2021 / PG / 6′

Chris is a tough nosed point guard with the will to win and doesn’t shy away from anything. Chris will sit in a stance and play tough D the length of the floor. With a developing offensive game, Chris is looking to have a strong summer.

Owen Griffith – 2021 / PG / 6′

Owen is deceptively quick and athletic. While he is not quite playing above the rim, he is skilled in finishing at the rim with contact. Great court awareness allows him to anticipate plays ahead of time to put him in good positions defensively, as well as, create opportunities for his teammates.

Jake Kawalec – 2021 / G / 6’1”

Jake Kawalec is as smooth as they come on the hardwood. Never seems to be out of control and plays within his skill set. Jake is a tremendous outside shooter but doesn’t just settle for the outside shot. He has a great head fake and ability to finish at the rim.

Nic Watkins – 2022 / G / 6’3”

Nic Watkins is gifted athletically and as just a rising sophomore, he has plenty of room to grow and add to his already strong build. As a slasher, Nic has a great touch at the rim and can knock down the open jumper with good range.

JR Proctor – 2021 / G / 6’1”

JR rolls out of bed ready to shoot. With a subtle, effortless and quick release, JR has nearly unlimited range and is able to get his shot off over a close out. Be careful of overrunning your closeouts, as he is capable of driving by defenders forcing him off the line.

Thomas Markun – 2021 / F / 6’7”

As the lone “big” on this roster, Thomas plays a pivotal role. Thomas has a solid back to the basket game and is able to finish over either shoulder. Throw in the ability to knock down a jump shot with range behind the arc, he becomes a difficult matchup at times.

Christian Shemo – 2021 / G/F / 6’3”

Christian is an intelligent player who never seems to run out of energy and grit. Long arms and smart play allows him to be a strong player defensively. Christian is continually developing his overall play on the offensive end of the floor as he looks to add to his strong shooting ability from behind the arc.
