Deaunte Crawford, 6’4 2021 F with Chattanooga Elite – Young big really gets to work on the glass. Opened up the game with 5 rebounds in first 4 minutes of play and never slowed down. Even the ones he did not get he seemed to have a hand on as he was a pogo stick out on the floor. Offense is a bit behind the rest of his game at this point but that’s not uncommon for a young big. The ability to work the glass and defend the paint will keep him on the floor while the rest comes around. Will be worth checking in on as his development continues.
Tachai Miller, 5’6 2021 G with Charlotte Nets Gainey – Quick and tough are 2 characteristics you look for in a PG and Miller has them both. Not the biggest kid on the floor but is fearless going to the hole regardless. Shows vision as a PG and while timing is ok, could be a bit better, something that will come with more time running the point at the higher levels of school ball. Would also love to see the jumper worked into his game more as he looks to drive most of the time.
Marcus Long, 6’ 2021 G with Chattanooga Elite – Good looking young shooter made a living in the corner today. Spot up sniper got to his spot and did his job when the ball found him there all game long. Showed signs of being an able defender but will need to step this part of his game up as he moves forward. Next step on offense is to diversify the game some. A spot up shooter is always needed but he has the potential here for more if he wants it.
Kerrick Thorne, 6’4 F with Chattanooga Elite – Good looking raw young forward prospect here. Super skinny athlete showed well but was the type of showing that makes you wish you could fast forward a few years so you can see the finished product. He has good bounce, decent hands, keeps the ball high, and can rebound but it’s not a complete game yet. Will have periods that get you excited and others where you don’t know he’s on the floor. Still, always wait on big’s to develop and we feel that’s the case here. Future depends on him.
Jaylin Williams, 6’6 2021 F with Greensboro Warriors – Lots to like in this young big. He has nice combo of size and length and enough strength to do whatever he wants to out on the floor. Good bounce and solid hands allows him to get to balls others can’t. The motor is there but its not always in 5th gear and at times he will stand around on offense instead of working to get position and give his guys a target to throw to. Still, kid is a college level prospect right now and with 2 more years to develop he’s only going to get better.
