The day continued into the afternoon, and Game 4 certainly had everyone’s attention as two heavyweights met up in Charlotte. Carmel Christian and The Burlington School, two of the top teams in the state squared off in what looked to be a thriller.  Both teams came out strong and made plays; Zion Walker was leading the charge once again for The Burlington School but Bryce Cash and Jaeden Mustaf made a strong tandem early on which allowed Carmel Christian to take a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter and eventually carry a four-point lead into halftime, 30-26.  Carmel Christian came out strong defensively, which turned into offense as they built upon that lead middle of the third quarter but TBS battled right back early in the fourth quarter to get it back down to a one-possession game.

As the game was coming down to the final seconds, Carmel Christian was looking to put the game away from the free throw line but Khamani Wertz went one-for-two, giving TBS one final chance but they could not capitalize in the end, as Carmel Christian secured the hard-fought 60-55 victory on Day 1.
