Coach: Adrian Lee

#128: 5'8 '23 Gavin Stinson (Oak Grove)

Starting things off, we look at a player that has steadily grown into a heady, reliable floor general over the recent years, Gavin Stinson. He's a smart, unselfish point guard prospect with a nice balance between scoring and playmaking. Stinson shoots the ball very effectively from the perimeter but also understands how to probe the defense and apply pressure as a downhill penetrator. He's slightly undersized but understands how to make his presence felt defensively, both at the point of attack and when intercepting passing lanes. Next in his development process is working to become a craftier finisher, as it would make him a more complete offensive player. Coach Lee on Stinson: 'Adrian is a very coachable player with a high IQ and very solid passing vision. He shot the ball very well in both spot-up situations and off the dribble.' Stinson was a definite contender for the Mr. Playmaker award and has made clear strides within his progression, which should lead to more attention from college coaches going forward.

#146: 5'11 '23 Brandon Betances (Cuthbertson)

Next, we look at a player that showcased his ability to affect various facets of the game within the flow of the team, Brandon Betances. He's a wiry, fairly well-rounded guard prospect with the ability to score in a variety of different ways, given his decent spot-up presence and overall creation skills. Betances attacked the basket and finished with regularity, but also knocked down open jumpers and set up others whenever possible. He provides great effort defensively and as a rebounder, which leads to transition play quite often. Next in his development process is working on adding strength to his wiry frame, as it would make him a more physically imposing player on either side of the ball. Coach Lee on Betances: 'Brandon is a solid two-way player. He brings a positive attitude, high motor, and steady understanding of the game. Brandon made plays on both ends of the floor.' Betances enjoyed a quality showing at camp and could be one to keep an eye on going forward for Cuthbertson.

#153: 5'11 '22 John Jackson (North Iredell)

Moving onto a player that arguably stood out as the most reliable backcourt prospect on this team, John Jackson. He's a smart, sturdy, well-rounded guard prospect with the necessary understanding to effectively operate in various different roles. Jackson can create for himself or others, or simply find opportunities as a cutter and spot-up threat without the ball in his hands. Jackson is a capable, willing passer and utilizes his quickness to penetrate, collapse the defense, and make quality reads. He's an efficient perimeter shooter but at his best when attacking the basket and finishing strong. Jackson also defends and rebounds well for his size/position, and makes an impact in transition. Next in his development process is working on his awareness when getting back in transition, as he could shut down opposing fast-breaks more regularly. Coach Lee on Jackson: 'John is a very good point guard with excellent IQ, effort, and understanding as a team player. I see his future unfolding into definite next-level opportunities.' Jackson certainly made his presence felt during camp and should have a very productive senior season at North Iredell.

Continuing onto a player that made quite a lasting impression with his well-rounded skillset and approach, Seth Bradford. He's a steady, unselfish, natural glue-guy with the ability to affect various facets of the game from the guard position. Bradford showed the necessary tools to hit shots and attack the basket while effectively applying pressure on the defensive end. He plays with a solid motor and utilizes his body well to battle and secure extra opportunities. Bradford handles and passes the ball well, which allows him to create off the bounce for himself or others. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities as an off-ball cutter. Coach Lee on Bradford: 'Seth is a solid ball player with great two-way potential. He's a good penetrator with the ability to finish strong. Seth displayed a positive attitude and unselfish mentality towards the game.' Bradford enjoyed a pretty productive showing at camp and should be poised for a quality senior campaign at Mountain Island Day.

Next, we look at a player that showed a variety of impressive flashes, especially to be the youngest camper on this team, Donovan Elliott. Coach Lee on Wheatley: 'Dakota is a very solid player who shoots the basketball very well. He has an excellent attitude, basketball IQ, and can shoot it off the dribble with ease.' Wheatley did a lot of things well during camp and should have a productive senior season at Uwharrie Charter.

Continuing onto a player that consistently made an impact through his toughness and rebounding presence, Lamont Sewell Jr. He's a sturdy, strong-bodied wing prospect with the ability to play bigger than his size would imply, specifically inside the paint and when defending bigger opponents. Sewell is a capable penetrator and finisher, but stands out more regularly as a perimeter shooter. He moves well without the ball, displays solid quickness for his frame, and makes defensive plays as an off-ball defender. Next in his development process is working to develop his ball-handling skills, as it would make him a more dynamic offensive threat. Coach Lee on Sewell: 'Lamont is a solid ball player with definite potential. He has a solid attitude and effort on the court He's a very good rebounder that understands how to properly position himself around the basket.' Next, we look at a player that showcased a lot of offensive abilities throughout the day, Lathan Averhart. He's a strong, athletic, skilled wing prospect with the necessary craftiness and ball-handling to create his own shot on a consistent basis. Averhart can regularly hit shots from beyond the arc, but is arguably even better when accessing his reliably midrange pull-up. He plays with nice energy, especially on offense and when getting out in transition. Next in his development process is working on matching his offensive energy and fortitude on the defensive end of the floor, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Lee on Averhart: 'Lathan is a very solid player but needs to learn how to defend on and off the ball. He can also continue to work on improving his footwork and overall rebounding presence.' Averhart enjoyed a quality showing during his time at camp and should have a productive senior campaign at East Hill Christian.

#228: 6'4 '22 Daniel Forester (Haywood Christian)

Moving onto a player that displayed an ability to make a strong impact, both with and without the ball in his hands, Daniel Forester. He's an unselfish, fairly high-motor forward prospect with useful size, floor-spacing ability and a quality feel for the game. Forester is willing and able to make hustle plays, both as a rebounder and when pursuing loose balls. He can finish effectively around the basket or knock down perimeter jumpers at a nice clip while defending his assignment on the other end. Between his touch, footwork, and shooting ability, Klug fits the mold of a modern post player. He also shows flashes of quality vision and the ball-handling skills against other big men. For those who have seen his complete trajectory, Klug should have obvious appeal to college coaches. Next in his development process is working on becoming a craftier ball-handler, as it would make him an even more dynamic offensive threat. Coach Lee on Klug: 'Marshall is a very special player at a legit 6-foot-7 with excellent footwork, hand-eye coordination, and above-average athletic ability. He has a high IQ, nose for the ball, and can get his shot anytime he wants. On the defensive side of the floor, he is a good on-ball defender and great shot-blocker from the weakside. He is definitely a next-level player with his skillset. Marshall checks every box that any college coach would need to have a successful program.' Klug enjoyed an excellent showing at camp, already collecting two offers in the following days, and should continue to be a target for various programs.
