Heading down to Georgia, Phenom Hoops recently talked to a rising prospect who has been catching the eyes of college programs as of late. 2026 6’6 Will Dopfer from Lambert High School has seen his recruitment start to pick up over the last few months, as he had a strong summer and has been looking to carry that into the season. Dopfer has added three new offers as of late, and several other schools have expressed interest. We talked to him about all the latest in our latest 1-on-1.

About Summer Ball:

“Things were great, played in some good during AAU season, and had lots of fun traveling with my team. Then in June when high school started, it was really fun got to play with guys I’ve known since I was little, went on trips to different team camps, and played in lots of great events and against great competition. then at the tail end of summer playing in the NCAA US Club Championship was an incredible experience.”

Game Description:

“An athletic wing that has a deep post bag and loves attacking the rim and getting dunks. But you can’t leave me open on the three because I will hit them if I get a good look. I’m a two-way player that has good timing in blocking shots and altering shots at the rim.”

Talking about offers from Chattanooga, Stetson, and Kent State:

Chattanooga: “They were my first offer, so it’s one I’ll never forget. I went on a visit last year, and they have a beautiful campus right by the river. The facilities are great. The coaching staff is really nice and they have a great program.”

Stetson: “They are a great school they won the ASUN last year and have had good seasons the years before. I went to the elite camp down there and really got along with the coaching staff. I’ve known one of the assistant coaches for a long time and he is my guy. I loved the school and they have a great staff.”

Kent State: “I went on an unofficial there a couple of months ago and it was nice. The coaches made it feel like family there, got to tailgate with the team for the football game as well. I got to watch practice also. They have a good team and can’t wait to see what they do this year. The assistant coach has been texting me for a while and he is a cool guy. We don’t only talk about basketball; we talk about other stuff which makes it special. They also have a big school which I like.”

Other Interest and Upcoming Visits:

“Boston University, Wofford, Yale, Columbia, Penn, Furman, Belmont, and Appalachian State. I will be visiting Boston in March but hoping to have some more this fall.”
