Looking at several other players around the country and world, Phenom Hoops recently caught up with 2025 7’1 Fridrik Leo Curtis from Cats Academy, a rising prospect who has been catching the attention of high-major programs all over. The big man has added four offers in the last month, as the European prospect at a strong last season and is ready to showcase just what he can do here in the US.
We spoke to him about some of the latest, what is going on in his recruitment, and more about his game on what he can provide.
Game Description
“I’d say I’m a versatile player, can shoot, dribble, finish, and pass. I move pretty well and have a good feel for the game. I try to make the best reads each time, whether it is shooting threes, rolling, cutting, driving, or passing to an open teammate. I think I can have an inside and outside presence, rebound, block shots, and make plays for my teammates to help the team win.”
Upcoming Season
“I’m excited to play the high school competition for the first time, and hope that it helps me to be more of a complete player since the games in the US and Europe where I come from are different.”
Recruitment
Curtis’ latest offer came from Arizona State, a program that he has been getting to know and recently took a visit to this past weekend.
“I’ve been getting to know the coaches, seeing the facilities and campus,” Curtis said. “I saw the campus, watched practice, and went to a football game. It was really nice.”
Right now, he holds offers from Alabama, Arizona State, UCF, and West Virginia, as he believes those are all strong options. He has also been hearing from schools like Creighton, Xavier, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Auburn, and a few others.
