Peter Lash, 'The Post Grad' Option

Back in September at our Open Gym Tour, we stopped by Charlotte Christian to check out 6'6 senior Peter Lash. We stated the following. 'Lash played in 27 games last year and averaged 7.8 points per game, so he knows his role for this team.  However, the team will depend on him stepping up to the challenge as being a go-to scorer this year.  He has been receiving a lot of DIII interest and others are looking at him as well, as the versatile forward shoots the ball incredibly well from three (51 percent last year).  His ability to be a spot s=up shooter is very intriguing and he will be depended on being a vocal leader on the floor and get on the boards this year for Charlotte Christian.' We talking about a mobile, fluid, crafty and high IQ stretch forward that can play collegiately at the next level.

This past year, Lash stepped up big for Charlotte Christian. He averaged 18.5 PPG and 6.5 RPG. In speaking to Lash, he stated that his recruitment started picking up late in the season, attracting several D1 schools along with high academic D3 schools. Like many unsigned seniors who were looking to secure a late signing commitment, the COVID-19 pandemic suddenly put a damper in players like Lash. Now, Lash will explore a post grad opportunity at New Hampton in the New England Prep School Athletic Conference. For players like Lash, their hopes and dreams were dashed with the COVID-19 pandemic, but like we stated earlier in the week, unsigned seniors should take a hard look and explore opportunities with post grad schools like New Hampton. For players who wish to stay closer to home, there are many excellent options in Virginia and the Carolinas.
