There is still plenty of talent left here in North Carolina, with one of those being 2025 6’8 Kaden Hammond from The Burlington School. When you hear about this program, many think of the talent of 2027 King Gibson, and deservingly so. But this is a team that has PLENTY of college-worthy prospects, and Hammond would make that list.
He showed exactly why this past weekend at the Phenom Tip-Off.
One of the clear standouts from the event, Hammond was able to really flourish in a variety of roles for his team and you can see that he is becoming a versatile forward on the court. Hammond is one who doesn’t always need to be the focal point of the offense but can clearly step up when his name is called upon. He shows patience and feel down in the post, understands how to score with angles, and can be physical down low as well offensively as well as on the boards on both ends. However, his growth in his game can be seen with his ability to stretch the floor more, putting that on full display recently. Time after time, Hammond was able to flourish with his comfort level in popping out and stretching the court, knocking down multiple threes with confidence and fluidity. He does a great job in spacing the floor at his position, as well as making good decisions on the court.
Hammond really shined on Day 1 for The Burlington School at the Phenom Tip-Off, finishing with 22 points, hitting multiple threes, and racking up eight rebounds and two assists along the way vs. Combine Academy. His showing certainly proved that college programs could use a prospect like Hammond at the next level.
