While majority of the folks within grassroots basketball tend to primarily focus on the older prospects (who are eligible to receive offers and actually speak to coaches), there's always a new slew of up-and-coming talent across the younger age groups. Between the Classes of 2024 and 2025, folks should be really excited for what's to come over the next few years. The current collection of 14U and 15U basketball is as (if not more) entertaining than the veteran prospects preparing for the collegiate ranks. Team United 15U (2024) was easily among the most talented squads within their age group, but also have a variety of guys who are just beginning to scratch the surface. Although already quite productive, Jaxon Prunty might have as much potential as anyone within the organization…

Between his parents (both basketball players), physical attributes, and blossoming skillset, there is already so much to like about his identity. Prunty has visibly grown since entering high school, and could feasibly continue to stretch out over the next few years. However, the regular flashes of skill are becoming impossible to ignore. As a fluid, skilled, athletic 6-foot-6 guard prospect, Prunty is a capable scorer and creator with obvious defensive upside. He's able to operate without the ball and find scoring opportunities or assert himself as a primary ball-handler as needed. Prunty is already starting to develop into a legitimate matchup problem due to his size, skill, and fluidity, but his continued progression will ultimately decide just how far he will go.

Between his time with Team United and Davidson Day, Prunty should be able to come along at his own pace. The expectations shouldn't be too high for the Chargers, as he will certainly be the youngest player within their rotation. Prunty will be able to shine as a leader with his summer group and gradually emerge as a leader with his high school squad. Add in his favorable academics, and it's difficult to place a ceiling on his overall upside. Again, Prunty has the tools to determine his own fate.
