1 of 1 Academy Entering the Gauntlet

Playing three games between the three days, 1 of 1 Academy will certainly have a schedule worth noting. They might have the most talented roster on display, but matchups against Caldwell Academy (#8 in NC), St. Stephens & St. Agnes, and Charlotte Performance Institute will challenge their record.

Sitting at 4-4, Can Ridge View Win Twice?

Opening things up with their matchup against Davidson Day (#6 in NC) with nationally level guys like Isaiah Denis and Will Stevens, Ridge View will face off against two really tough opponents. The next day, they’ll be matched against The Burlington School (#5 in NC)—a team that has proven capable of competing at a high level before and after the departure of their star prospect. Either way, Ridge View might have the most stacked roster in the event. Nationally ranked players in DJ Wylie, Korie Corbett, and Yale Davis surrounded by several college-level guys like Malachi Cooper, Talan Staley, Reggie Mack, RJ Davis, CJ Moore, Chris Horton, and Treyvon Smith.

Cox Mill and Chambers Playing with Something to Prove

Two talented teams with some ups and downs in their early season, Monday should provide a highly entertaining contest between Cox Mill and Chambers. Cox Mill might not have the star power, but they are undeniably talented and can compete with anyone in the state. On the other side, Chambers is expected to contend for a title and this matchup could get things back on the right path.

Star Freshman at Every Turn

While most folks get excited about the seniors committed to college (rightfully so), this event is absolutely loaded with noteworthy freshmen. JJ Sati-Grier (Charlotte Performance); Chase Smith, Bobby Montgomery, and Mekhi Allen (Queen’s Grant); Brayden Miles and Jack Baker (The Burlington School); CJ Moore and RJ Davis (Ridge View); Jaleel Smith (Hunter Huss).

Will St. Stephens & St. Agnes Surprise Folks?

Currently sitting at 6-1 with quality production from their core of Riley Jacobs, Colin Pollock, and Julian Burgdolf, the Saints will enter North Carolina with three big matchups on the horizon. They will face off against The Burlington School (#5 in NC), 1 of 1 Academy (top non-association team), and Grace Christian (Marquette commit Michael Phillips). Each of these opponents should pose intense challenges for the Saints.
