We have been spotlighting players as part of the Class of 2025 here in North Carolina, and a player who certainly has the attention of many college programs on the football side, should be getting more looks for his talent on the court as well.
2025 6’4 Shamarius “Snook” Peterkin is a player who holds a slew of offers for his talent on the football field, and when talking to him about who has been recruiting him, he mentioned schools like NC State, South Carolina, and North Carolina have been strong with him. But this is a young man who has proven himself time after time that he can play basketball as well. And when speaking with Peterkin, he would be highly interested in playing both if possible.
“I would love to play both at the next level,” Peterkin told Phenom Hoops. “Most people think it would be too much, but I’ve been doing it all my life, so I definitely can handle it. I just got to get more looks in basketball. (I’m) real aggressive when it comes to getting to the basketball, my 3-point shot has improved as well. Defensively, I can block shots, guard 1-5, and I’m very athletic as well as very competitive.”
Peterkin has been a natural scorer on the floor, and with his size and athleticism, he produces in a lot of ways and has proven that he should for sure be getting looks for his talent on the court. Just check out what we have said in the past about his game.
What Has Been Said:
“Peterkin has been a name that Phenom Hoops has been impressed with over the last year. And you can see that he only continues to get better on the court. A two-sport athlete in football and basketball, Peterkin should have the attention of D1 schools with his long athletic frame, his ability to get to the rim and finish, consistently fills it up, but also makes impressive plays on the defensive end. A rising prospect in the class of 2025 here in NC.”
“Peterkin is a player that is showing that he could be a player both on the field and basketball court. He holds several offers already with his play on the field, but on the court, Peterkin is looking like a big-time prospect as well. He presents great size, bounce in his game, and is an absolute dynamic playmaker on the court. Smooth, fluid, and can score the ball from all over the court.”
