What He Said:
“I would say I’m a versatile defender, a hard rebounder, and I like to operate in the mid-post/ low-post area but can step out and take bigger defenders off the dribble. I flourish in the low post. I think I have really solid footwork and I am pretty good at using my body.”
What He Brings to Northwestern:
Northwestern has been building a strong recruiting class, but Tre Singleton’s commitment is certainly a big one, as multiple national outlets have him as one of the top 100 prospects in the country. We watched him not long ago down in Rock Hill, and the 6’8 prospect was able to impress. He excelled well out in transition, attacking downhill, using his size well, and making strong moves off the bounce. Time after time, he was at his best attacking the defense and getting to the rim, using his 6’8 frame and athleticism to his advantage. But what has to intrigue you with his game is his versatility all over the court; guarding multiple positions and also showing he can be an effective three-level scorer. But he also helps in other ways, understanding how to impact the game in a variety of ways. His versatility and size should be able to be extremely beneficial to Northwestern and he can be a program builder.
