On a rainy Friday Night on the border of Cary and Raleigh, Northside Christian came into Grace Christian School on a mission, win the game in dominating fashion. They achieve that goal largely due to the play of Senior Combo Guard Jonathan Hicklin and Sophomore Phenom Jaden Seymour. Seymour and Hicklin combined for 42 points in their 86-63 blowout win over Grace Christian of Raleigh.
When attending a Northside game it is really obvious that Hicklin is the vocal leader of a fairly young team. Hicklin is another one of those unsigned senior point guards in the 2018 class in North Carolina. If any coaches are looking for an alpha dawg leader type that can score at all 3 levels Hicklin might be your guy. He plays with an edge regardless of the competition, and has a knack for getting a bucket or a stop when your team needs it most.
Jaden Seymour might have one of the highest ceilings in the 2020 class in the state if not the country. Seymour is a lanky 6'6 position-less kind of player that can score from all 3 levels. Seymour was already an explosive athlete, but adding an outside shooting touch has helped space the floor for himself and his teammates, creating a dangerous dynamic for all competition.
This duo has the capability of beating any team on any given night. Despite a 9-6 record, Northside is incredibly dangerous heading into the playoffs with Hicklin, Seymour, and a more than capable supporting cast. Once they can get into a better rhythm and clean up a little bit of sloppiness Northside is considered a legit contender in my book.
