It seems like the season is flying by, and Phenom Hoops is looking to shed more light on programs that are having a terrific season. One team that should deserve recognition is Northern Nash, as the Knights are 21-0 on the season and rolling through their competition.
Looking at this team and program, this is a team that is made up of experienced players to go along with depth. On the season, the Knights are averaging 71.5 points per game, and is a team mainly made up of seniors and juniors leading the way. 2023 Jamal Townsend is leading the charge at 13.9 points, 81. Rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 steals per game, while 2024 Randall King isn’t far behind at 13.6 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.6 steals per game. But as you look down the roster, you can see that this is a team that brings depth and has players stepping up when called upon. There are 13 players that have played 15 or more games this season, and 14 players that have played 12 or more. The Knights also have six players behind Townsend and King that average between 4-9 points and four players that are helping contribute between 1-3 points per game as well.
Northern Nash not only can be an offensive juggernaut, but they are getting it done on the defensive end, giving up under 50 points per game to opponents. They are strong on the boards, they can come in waves, they have players that understand their roles, and the Knights are getting it done on both sides of the ball.
This is why they sit undefeated on the season and why the Knights should be regarded as one of the top teams in the state. Watch out for Northern Nash in the playoffs as well, as they look to be one of the top-seeded teams.
