Team 7
Coach: Taisha Murphy
#7: 5’4 ’25 Vega Deyton (Mountain Heritage)
Starting things off, we look at a player that made a quality impact despite being the smallest camper on this team, Vega Deyton. She’s a scrappy, unselfish, high-motor guard prospect with the ability to do a little bit of everything on the court. Deyton is a respectable shooting threat with solid vision, defensive prowess, and rebounding instincts. She does a great job of outworking her assignment and making plays within the flow of the team structure. Deyton is willing to do the dirty work whenever possible. Next in her development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make her a more lethal penetrating threat. Coach Murphy on Deyton: “Vega is a good player that will grow and improve quickly because she’s very coachable. She’s a sponge for knowledge with a high ceiling. Vega is a good athlete who makes her teammates better.” Deyton enjoyed a nice showing at camp and should be a useful contributor for Mountain Heritage over the coming years.
#10: 5’10 ’24 Isa Roman (Cardinal Gibbons)
Next, we look at a player that made a lasting impression through her craftiness and impressive polish, Isa Roman. She’s a smart, skilled, tough guard prospect with the ability to get basically whatever she wants offensively. Roman is excellent creator who utilizes her quick first step and tight handle to consistently break down opponents and make plays off the bounce. Between her smooth jumper and sharp penetration sense, she’s able to apply scoring pressure at a nonstop rate. Roman also moves well without the ball and understands how to effectively spot-up along the perimeter. She defends her position and rebounds the ball well as a guard. Next in her development process is working to get stronger, as it would make her a more physically imposing player. Coach Murphy on Roman: “Isa is solid in every area/category. Great floor general with leadership qualities. Fierce competitor. Reliable playmaker and solid defender. She’s a winner that will be an asset to any team she’s on.” Roman performed at a notable level during her time at camp and should be a target for various college coaches during her upcoming senior season.
#24: 5’6 ’24 Samiyah Barber (Hillside)
Moving onto a player that consistently found ways to fill in the gaps on either end of the floor, Samiyah Barber. She’s a tough, quick guard prospect with a high motor, quality penetration sense, and scrappy defensive nature. Barber is a nice ball-handler with the ability to consistently break down opponents and touch the paint. She’s a capable shooter and passer with solid vision and decision-making. Barber is willing to make hustle plays whenever possible. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would allow her to find more scoring opportunities as cutter or spot-up threat. Coach Murphy on Barber: “Only saw Samiyah play one game because she had to leave early. However, she’s a good ball-handler, finisher, and can attack effectively off the bounce. Samiyah is also a good athlete and defender. She has lots of potential.” Barber enjoyed a quality showing at camp and should be a major contributor during her upcoming season at Hillside.
#40: 5’8 ’24 Azahreya Drayton-Gill (Ben L. Smith)
Continuing onto a player that offered a very steady, well-rounded presence, Azahreya Drayton-Gill. She’s a long, fairly athletic forward prospect with an understanding of how to naturally do a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor. Drayton-Gill is a quality finisher with a solid jumper and the ability to make plays with or without the ball in her hands. She defends her position well and makes a nice impact on the glass. Next in her development process is working on her consistency as a three-point shooter, as it would make her a more lethal offensive threat. Coach Murphy on Drayton-Gill: “Azahreya is a solid defender, both on the ball and in space. She displays good footwork in the post and showed the ability to finish well around the rim. Azahreya showed potential as a perimeter player with the ability to attack off the bounce. Showcases a high motor but can take some possessions off defensively at times (but fatigue may have been a factor in that). Overall, she’s a solid player with a high ceiling.” Drayton-Gill proved to be an asset throughout camp and should maintain her status as a key piece for Ben L. Smith during her upcoming senior season.
#43: 5’9 ’26 Tessa Gladieux (Cardinal Gibbons)
Next, we look at a player that showcased a lot of enticing flashes, especially for her age, Tessa Gladieux. Coach Murphy on Gladieux: “Tessa showed potential as a perimeter player with the ability to knock down shots off the catch. She plays with great energy and rebounds well on both ends of the floor. Great attitude and extremely coachable.” Gladieux made a quality impact during her time at camp and should be a prospect to monitor for Cardinal Gibbons over the coming years.

Moving onto a player that consistently made her presence felt through affecting all facets of the game, Kadin Scott. She’s a steady, well-rounded forward prospect with a quality motor and overall feel on both ends of the floor. Scott is a useful penetrator and finisher with the ability to create her own shot, set up others, or knock down jumpers off the catch. She contains her assignment well defensively and outworks opponents on the glass as a rebounder. Scott plays within the team structure, but can also expand her production as needed. Next in her development process is working on her ability to shoot off the dribble, as it would make her a more complete player. Coach Murphy on Scott: “Kadin is very coachable. Plays with good energy. She does everything well on the court and understands how to assert herself within the team structure.” Scott enjoyed a strong showing at camp and should be a productive piece during her upcoming senior season at NC GBB.

Continuing onto a player that showcased a lot of appeal, particularly for her age, Regan Averett. She’s a young, active post prospect with great energy and the ability to make plays with or without the ball in her hands. Averett is a capable finisher and post scorer, but can also space the floor from midrange or beyond the arc. She utilizes her body to secure rebounds at a high rate on both ends of the floor. Averett defends well in the post and alters shots well around the basket. She also displays feel and nice mobility. Next in her development process is working to get quicker, as it would make her a better defender at the point of attack. Coach Murphy on Averett: “Regan possesses great instincts and awareness. She rebounds well and displays nice touch around the rim offensively. Regan plays with great energy and poise.” Averett highlighted a lot of ability at camp and will be one to watch progress over the foreseeable future.
#68: 6’0 ’26 Tia Bryant (NC GBB)
Next, we look at a player that possesses a highly enticing crossroads between productivity and long-term upside, Tia Bryant. She’s a young post prospect with a phenomenal blend of skill, athleticism, and two-way instincts. Bryant already causes problems for opponents with her presence as a defender and rebounder, but can also set up others or score in a variety of ways. She’s a respectable perimeter shooter with touch, post moves, and nice quickness for her size. Bryant already possesses a lot of ability, but should only continue to progress. Next in her development process is working on her ability to move without the ball, as it would open her up to more scoring opportunities as a cutter around the basket. Coach Murphy on Bryant: “Tia is a great athlete! She can defend all five positions. Stands out as a warrior and fierce competitor on the court. She attacks the rim, can hit perimeter shots, and displays a solid basketball IQ. Tia has an incredibly high ceiling.” Bryant proved to be a definite difference-maker at camp and will be a prospect for college coaches to monitor over the coming years.
#80: 6’1 ’25 Amanda Mitchell (Willow Springs)
Finishing up, we look at a player that consistently stood out with her active, reliable presence on both ends of the floor, Amanda Mitchell. She’s a long, athletic post prospect with an excellent motor, unselfish mentality, and high IQ. Mitchell is a great finisher around the basket; she offers a polished post arsenal, nice jumper, and the ability to attack opponents off the bounce. She alters a ton of shots defensively, controls the glass, and runs the floor very well in transition. Next in her development process is working to get quicker, as it would make her a better defender along the perimeter. Coach Murphy on Mitchell: “Amanda is a high-level player that can operate well from the high post or with her back to the basket. She displayed the ability to hit shots from the perimeter, attack off the bounce, and finish around the rim. She’s a winner and instantly makes any team she plays on significantly better.” Mitchell did a ton of things well during her time at camp and has all the tools to continue progressing over these next few seasons.
