Team 3

Coach: Gerroid Doughty

#4: 4’11 ’25 Jalen Mills (Hope Mills, NC)

Starting things off, we look at a player that provided his team with a steady, unselfish presence throughout camp, Jalen Mills. He’s a small guard prospect with solid IQ and the ability to score or make plays for others. Mills plays within himself and rarely forces the action on either end of the floor. Next in his development process is working to add strength, as it’ll allow him to be a more impactful two-way player. Coach Doughty on Mills: “Jalen has a great attitude and a good feel for the game. He has good instincts. Jalen can pass with the best of them, making him a threat to score or help a teammate score. He was a little hesitant to shoot, but that should change as he gets more confident in himself. Jalen has quick hands and played good all day.” There’s a lot to like about Mills, so we’ll definitely be monitoring his continued progression.

#8:5’0 ’25 Joshua Dorsette II (Durham, NC)

Next, we look at a player that has a chance to become a really tough two-way threat in the near future, Joshua Dorsette. He’s somewhat small, but possesses an excellent feel for the game and understands how to run a team. Dorsette is capable of being the lead guard or sliding off-ball and applying quality scoring pressure. He scores efficiently on all three levels and displayed phenomenal vision throughout the day. Next in his development process is working to add physical strength, as it would make him a more impactful defender. Coach Doughty on Dorsette: “Josh came to play today! He showed the ability to handle the ball against pressure defense. He really shined on the defensive end. Josh has great passing skills. He finished well at the rim whenever he was able to get out and run. Josh is a hawk on defense; I like his work ethic. Josh definitely has a future in this game.” Dorsette has a great foundation and should be a fun prospect to track going forward.

#11:5’3 ’24 Grant Hamilton (Waxhaw, NC)

Moving onto a player that really stood out with his ability to effortlessly create and run a team, Grant Hamilton. He’s a high-IQ point guard with a tight handle and excellent vision, which allows him to get wherever he desires on the court and make plays. Hamilton was also able to score from wherever he wanted throughout the day and actually finished with the eleventh-highest scoring average (15.3 PPG) from camp. Next in his development process is working to add strength, as it would make him a much more difficult assignment for opponents to contain. Coach Doughty on Hamilton: “Grant did it all today. He moved without the ball and found open shots for himself. When the defense comes to him, he passed to the open man. He has good release on his jumper and was able to shoot off the dribble as well as off the catch. Grant played well on both sides of the ball. Grant is a point guard with great ball-handling skills.” There’s no real knock on Hamilton’s game, as he was easily among the best all-around point guards on display.

#18:5’5 ’24 Brandon Anderson (Clayton, NC)

Continuing onto a player that simply knows how to consistently affect all facets of the game, Brandon Anderson. He’s a high-motor wing prospect with the ability to truly overwhelm his assignment on defense and regularly force turnovers. Anderson does a great job of pushing the ball in transition and scoring on a majority of his fast-break opportunities. Next in his development process is working to add a reliable three-point shot to his arsenal, as it would open up an abundance of offensive opportunities. Coach Doughty on Anderson: “Brandon was all over the court today! A real asset to our team, he rebounded with so much vigor and tenacity. He even took rebounds from his teammates by playing with such force. I was very impressed with his shooting and finishing at the basket. Brandon handled the ball very well with both hands, which makes him a real threat to score. I’m excited to see his progression.” Anderson averaged 12 points during camp and should be a prospect to keep an eye on.

#31:5’7 ’24 Misean Rodgers (Morrisville, NC)

Next, we look at a player that did a terrific job of impacting the game and leading his team during camp, Misean Rodgers. He’s a long, wiry forward/post prospect with a strong motor and quality overall feel for the game. Rodgers does an excellent job of committing to both sides of the ball and going hard on every single possession. Next in his development process is working on developing his perimeter jumper, as it would make him extremely difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Doughty on Rodgers: “Misean asked me to guard the best player on the opposing team. He knifed through the defense like butter at times. Misean is a hard worker and battled for rebounds and loose balls. He had great footwork under the basket and in the post. He knocked down some shots from outside, but was more effective in the midrange. I had a great time coaching him.” Rodgers was the seventh-leading scorer at camp with an average of 19.3 PPG and should certainly be a name to remember.

#67:6’2 ’24 Dylan Deluca (Indian Trail, NC)

Finishing up, we look at a player that showcased some extended flashes of dominance at camp, Dylan Deluca. He’s a post prospect with nice size and an impressive feel for his position on both sides of the ball. Deluca utilizes his length well to alter shots and protect the rim, which led to numerous blocks turned into transition play. He ran the floor exceptionally well from end to end and played with a terrific motor at all times. Deluca scored the ball with great efficiency from all levels, but especially when operating around the paint. Next in his development process is working on his ball-handling ability, as it would allow him to create more reliably for himself. Coach Doughty on Deluca: “What can I say about Dylan' He’s an excellent post player for his size and age. He surprised me by having a perimeter skillset as well. He keeps the ball high and away from smaller defenders. He’s able to rive hard and finish from the high post. He shot some threes and converted. Dylan has an all-around game. I’m definitely going to keep an eye on him.” Deluca enjoyed a phenomenal showing at camp and was actually the third-leading scorer with an average of 24.3 PPG. He was among the top two-way prospects on display and should be one to watch, especially as a seventh-grader.
