No matter what, scouts and coaches alike are drawn to people who can creatively and consistently score the ball. 2018 Aaron Nesmith can flat out put the ball in the in the bucket. He has great length, he has great bounce, and he has touch that expands well beyond the 3-point arc. Last year, Nesmith won 3A South Carolina Private School state championship. He was region player of the year and was awarded all state – all as a sophomore. During this great sophomore year campaign, Nesmith averaged over 20 points per game, shooting over 50% from the field and over 40% from beyond the arc. After his play last in last year’s Summer Havoc LIVE, Mark Bialkoski wrote, “A long active scorer from the wing, Aaron displayed a soft touch around the rim. Making a name for himself by being the benefactor of TMP’s good guard play. Exhibited the ability to make the open catch and shoot three and apply pressure on the rim when needed. Aaron’s activity around the offensive glass produced extra possessions, opportunities, and baskets for TMP.” After his performance at the prestigious South Carolina Top 80 we wrote, “Nesmith is tough, a very tough minded and bodied player. Nesmith is an attacking wing, who likes to get downhill and looks for the contact in the lane. He has a soft touch with deep range, Nesmith made shots both off the catch and the pull up. He led his varsity team in scoring last season, and his confidence is starting to really take off. Look for some big numbers put up here, because he is long, athletic, skilled, and plays with a chip on his shoulder.” This will be a big July for Nesmith.
