It is always an enjoyable time for us at Phenom Hoops to see who could “next up” around the region.  We get to see these kids at such a young age, at getting a chance to watch their development and growth is fun to watch. But there are a few players that quickly stand out at a young age that seem to have that extra “it” factor,

One player that we have had a chance to watch a few times and once again this past weekend, 2027 6’3 King Gibson is one that could fit that label as “next up” here in North Carolina.

To start off, Gibson certainly fits the mold of a rising star around the region and it will be interesting to see how he continues to develop. He already has great size for his age at 6’3, but when you watch his game, there are several other factors that stand out. Gibson has a tremendous blend of athleticism, size, and explosiveness, and can fill it up when he wants. He is excellent at getting downhill and finding ways to finish, using his burst of speed and athleticism to his advantage. And he also brings a strong presence on both sides of the ball as well.

For a player part of the Class of 2027, he shows those early flashes that should continue to translate and develop more as he gets older, as well as his mindset of adding more to his game. This is why he certainly could be labeled as one of those “next up” players here in North Carolina.

What Was Said:

“6’3 ’27 King Gibson (Team United) is an incredible prospect. Already able to dominate a game through his unbelievable blend of size, skill, and athleticism. Showcasing the full arsenal here. Highlighting the makings of a special, national-level player.”

“Finally got to see 2027 King Gibson (Team United) vs his own age group and he’s shown pure dominance with consistent relays of offensive firepower making impressive play after play, shifty in traffic, and near impossible to cut off from where he wants to go.”
