POB’s Eye Catchers from Coach Rick’s TOC (Day 2, Part 3)

2024 Rakease Passmore (NLPB): With college coaches coming to watch, Passmore put on a show and gave them everything you would want in a young player. With the blend of athleticism, break down defenders, finish through contact or around/over defenders, step out and knock down shots, and be an impact defensively with blocking shots, Passmore showed it all and why he is looking to be one of the top...

Player Standouts from Phenom Summer Havoc (Saturday)

by: Ethan Reece 2023 Kameron Roberts (Warriors TBT)Without a doubt the biggest workhorse I saw on the day. He gave defenders the work no matter where on the court, and his unique physique allows him to play and guard any position. He’s got the athleticism and quickness to get downhill and the muscle to bully others down low. Plays so tough on a team that centered totally around defensive...

Player Standouts at Day Three of Phenom Summer Havoc

6’0 ’22 Cole Sinclair (Durham Hurricanes) It should come as no surprise to anyone within the grassroots scene, but Sinclair continues to showcase a lot of ability as the clear leader of this group. He’s a lethal shooting threat with vision and a nice change of pace, which allows him to effectively manage the game while picking his spots from all three levels. Sinclair handles the ball well and...

POB’s Eye Catchers from Phenom Summer Havoc Session 2 (Day 1, Part 2)

2022 Brady Moore (Louisville Prospects): Moore took advantage of the stage that was set, going for an impressive 20-point performance vs. the Royals.  The 6’5 prospect brings a strong frame and plays physical in getting downhill, putting the ball on the deck and finishing well with toughness.  Just really like how strong he plays on the court. 2022 Xavier McKelvy (Charlotte Royals):...

Brandon’s Big-Time Ballers (Summer Havoc Session 1, Day 2)

By: Brandon Blakney 6’5 2024 Rakease Passmore (NLPB)- Passmore might have had the most upside of any player I witnessed today, at 6’5 he’s a true wing and has the skill set that translates immediately at the next level. Passmore is an explosive athlete that’s capable of playing above the rim, he can make shots off the catch and shoot, and he’s capable of creating off the dribble. Passmore showed...

POB’s Eye Catchers from Phenom Summer Havoc Session 2 (Day 2, Part 2)

2022 Jajuan Nicholls (Sheed Wallace Select): There is a lot of length on this Wallace Select team but Nicholls is one that has continued to earn praise with what he provides on both ends. The 6’8 prospect showed flashes both on the defensive side of the ball, blocking shots, creating a wall on the court, and moving well against different opponents. He also has a nice feel and mobility...

Sometimes, you just simply know… As a scout, there are times when you come across a young prospect and you simply know that this is going to be a player colleges of all levels will be after in a big way.  2024 6’6 Rakease Passmore is one of those players for Phenom Hoops.   Passmore quickly checks a lot of the boxes with his game, which is why schools like Murray State and Western...

Player Highlight: Phenom Summer Showcase

By: Sean Halloran 6’6 2024 Rakease Passmore (NLPB 828 15u) Passmore was voted as one of the top players during this weekend’s event and I couldn’t agree more! This young man is a stud. Versatile forward with great size and length. Uber athlete and plays above the rim consistently. An area of Passmore’s game that has shown much improvement in his perimeter shooting. He really displayed a great...

Player Standouts at Day Two of Phenom Summer Showcase

6’2 ’23 Grady Whitt (Go Hard) Few teams in attendance can match the balanced approach of Go Hard, and Whitt is a massive part of their overall game. The lefty is skilled and fairly crafty, able to consistently create for himself and other off the bounce. Whitt shoots the ball at an efficient rate from midrange and beyond the arc, and finishes with finesse around the basket. He’s a quality passer...

2026 6’4 Kendre Harrison (CSB 2026): Harrison is a young big that captures your eye with his frame and body early on.  You also have to like his solid hands at an early age, Harrison can really make a presence known down in the paint and it will be interesting to watch him develop down the road. A new name to put on the watch list. 2025 Trevor Best (NLPB): Best is going to be a name that you...

Dawkins’ Day 1 Standout from Phenom G3 Showcase

By; DeAjai Dawkins 6’1 2026 Bradley Floyd (Team Loaded NC 13U)  Bradley is a 13U prospect that caught my attention at the end of Saturday night. Playing for Team Loaded, Floyd has exceptional positional size for his age operating as a 6’1 lead guard. Due to his size advantage, his easiest baskets come from driving to the rim, as most defenders do not possess the length to compete. A Kings...
