The second round of the 4A NCHSAA tournament featured two teams from the Raleigh area going at it for a chance to make it to the elite eight. Millbrook, a perennial powerhouse was playing in their 14th straight second-round tournament game, and Fuquay Varina was in the tournament for the first time since 1996.
