Rise Showcase: A Trio of Unsigned Seniors Worth Noting

6'3 KC Shaw (Carolina Riptide) It's easy to see the next-level ability with Shaw, so his lack of recruitment remains somewhat perplexing. He's a wiry, well-rounded guard with a nice blend of IQ, skill, and athleticism. Shaw has shown the ability to dictate an offense as the focal point or find opportunities within a role, but is successful and productive in both settings. He's an efficient...

Dawkins’ Standouts from Jamboree Bash (Part 1)

By: DeAjai Dawkins 6'5 2024 Iverson King (Forsyth Country Day)' This weekend, Iverson King appeared to be one of the clear leaders of this young group. He's long been discussed by on-lookers as an early college priority and seems to be living up to his potential as a player that scholarship-level schools should be paying attention to right now. King is hitting with efficiency from beyond the...

Player Standouts at Phenom Jamboree Bash

6'0 '22 Maxwell Coles (North Meck) Although other players on this roster might receive more attention, Coles is legitimately as valuable as anyone for North Meck. His steady, reliable three-level scoring presence allows him to consistently assert himself within the flow of the action. Coles can operate without the ball or create for himself and others, simply based on team need. He's a quality...

Dawkins’ Championship Sunday Standouts from Phenom MC

By; DeAjai Dawkins 6'3 2022 Evan Smith (ACE Elite 17U)' Evan has performed like a high-level guard all weekend, distributing and scoring at a balanced pace. He's starting to create with less dribbles than before. This is one player that's in a prime position to lead coming into this high school season, and his recruitment will likely benefit.  6'1 2022 Jazian Gortman (PCH Nightrydas 17U)'...

POB’s Eye Catchers: Phenom MDC (Day 2, Part 2)

2022 Tariq Shabazz (Palmetto Elite): Shabazz had a strong Day 2 in Rock Hill, as he played with a natural feel but was excellent in transition.  Getting the ball and going is where he excelled, running out in transition, getting downhill, making strong plays, and finishing around the basket.  But don't let that fool you because you have to respect his outside game as well, showing his...

Player Standouts at Day Two of Phenom Memorial Day Classic

5'11 '22 Jordan Marsh (PSB Larkin) There's an abundance of talent within the PSB Larkin squad, and Marsh is as valuable as anyone. At this point, he's probably underrated within the bigger scheme of things. Marsh is a sharp ball-handler and playmaker with an excellent penetration sense. He's smart, athletic, and displays nice balance as a two-way floor general. Marsh is a quality defender and...

DeAjai Dawkins' Day 2 Standouts #PhenomSummerHavoc

By; DeAjai Dawkins 5'10 2022 Wesley McGee (CC Elite 2022) Wesley is an athletic guard with a slender, toned frame. He initiates almost all offense from outside the perimeter due to his comfortability with pulling the three, but won't hesitate to use his athleticism to get into the lane. He has yet to fully tap into his potential, as he can be relied on as much more of a consistent offensive...
