The second round of the 4A NCHSAA tournament featured two teams from the Raleigh area going at it for a chance to make it to the elite eight. Millbrook, a perennial powerhouse was playing in their 14th straight second-round tournament game, and Fuquay Varina was in the tournament for the first time since 1996.
On Friday night, undefeated South Wake Athletic Conference opponents faced off. Apex Friendship (3-0) travelled to Fuquay-Varina (3-0) for a matchup between the two top teams in the conference.
